Bought the HTC Desire (yes it tethers perfectly btw ) and its a awesome relief from an iPhone. It's all open, nothing forced, closed, unathorized or whatever.. the phone is build around the 'do what you want with it' principle. And it's damn fast (1ghz).

Bad sides:
- Slight better battery life (1,5day) then the iPhone but that's because ive been playing with it all weekend, with everything set to max (brightness, gps, bluetooth, wi-fi).
- Size: There's a warning paper in the box that warns to not put it in your pockets when in a sitting position. It's sligthly taller then an iPhone. I'm looking for a proper carrying sleeve, one that you can put on your belt maybe.

mine has that warning too, but I think it refers to the back pocket

I've had mine in my front jeans pocket since day 1 with no problems

I've had a HTC Desire for 2 weeks now on T-Mobile - not tried tethering yet (its not allowed on my contract and I suspect may be disabled). Love the phone and would recommend it highly to anyone, especially if you regularly use Google Mail and Calendar.

I thought pretty well most phones would tether? at least everyone I've had for years has been able to, not that I'm saying that it was cheap way back then, unlike these days where its often included in packages (albeit only enough for about 20 mp3's a day)

Currently using Blackberrys, do everything I need, instant email from multiple accounts is handy, probably my most used feature.
Battery life is poor at about 4 days of my use, so I carry a spare battery in the car and a car charger. Could go on, not trying to do a review.
