I dont get it ? Does that mean that Sigil have well and truly fucked up the game and SOE who originally just co-published it are there to put the final nail in the coffin now ?

Basically, yes.

When it was announced that SoE were co-publishing, Sigil were all like:
"it doesn't matter, we'll retain control of how the game will be managed and developed"

Then this happens :D

I honestly wouldnt blame them... It's their own fault they have only a marginally successful MMO, they fucked up with their total mismanagement of funds and stuff.

I'm inclined to agree. Vanguard was promising, but I don't know many people who really stuck it out. It might see a large enough population to maintain itself, as most games do, but it's not a world beater. Best for Sigil to sell up, then take their people and money and do something new.

A problem I think that is coming up though is people keep looking to make the WoW beater. What they should look to make are niche games, marketed to the right people, aimed at a small, sustainable game population.

TBH, that was predictible. Sigil released beta, hoping, that people are going to pay for it ?;) lol They should have sold it 6 months ago, and actually finish it.

End of the day, it's going to bo SOE anyway, but it would have so much higher population and better reviews.

I dont want to come across as a BM fanboi or a $0£ lover, but seriously chaps did you read all the material posted by Sigil & its reps or just these 2 monotonous posts by brad?

Sigil have publically stated they fucked up with a $50m budget and mismanged the time, they also admitted to biting off more of the feature list for the game than they ad the expertise to implement at the time. When the money ran out they HAD to release or close up shop. Neither SOE or Microsoft were going to let that happen. Yes SoE are going to get alot more involved, and hopefully manage the project better than sigil have done previously. sigil will still remain in control but have the beancounters from SoE kicking them everytime a deadline is missed. I personally think it is a good thing thats happening because as it stands Sigil have the same reputation as Peter Sutcliffe at a Missing persons meeting.
