Ok im seriously bored, WoW sucks, im only playing with the retard TR on PS at the minute, sick of the grind of navyfield for a while, and ive basically played my single player games to death Hitman, MTW2, EU3 and Black and White.

Ive started looking around http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm?gameId=0&bhcp=1 for some ideas on what to do and am seriously considering taking the 14 day demo of UO.

Ive never played any of the UO series and from what ive heard from you lot is that it was good 10 years ago but it dogshit today compared to other mmo's, anyone got anything good to say about this game and will it keep me occupied for atleast the next 14 days ?

UO had a graphical update a while ago, one of the longest running MMO's. I've been hooked to Ultima ever since the text/wireframe3d release of Ultima :) The MMO is good, worth spending your time around with, but im not sure if it still counts today, havent logged in for ages.

There has been a shit load of 3rd party apps. I think the one you're thinking of may be uoa.

Defiance is a uo free shard using an old ruleset, which, imo, is closet to the golden age of uor pvp before it got ruined by powerscrolls and eventually items. Pure skill based pvp.

Actually Lean you wanna talk to Sean as he schooled me and Nok in UO about a month ago.

I enjoyed it but i just dont have time for a complicated MMO at the moment so i didnt go in for more than the trial.

I think the 3rd party apps EA/Origin were having problems with were things like EzUO, which was the nice macro scripting program. UOa was always a legal addon although not supported by EA. It just had ship movement hotkeys and stuff. UOAutomap is another essential addon as the ingame minimap is shit ..i mean big style crapola

EZUo on the other hand allowed you to script an entire dungeon fight from one button press, or script a rares collection theft from Doom, including recalling to the spawn point, hiding, stealing said item as soon as it spawned, recalling to the next spawn, rinse & repeat until the bags were full, recall back to your doorstep, drop the stolen loot into a secure container ... and then start all over again. This was highly illegal and if you were even suspected of using this ... banzorred [lost 2 accounts because of this *cough*].






ummm this is only hearsay and i never ever scripted using EZUo but i have it from a very reliable source that you can steal doom rares in 0.08sec .. which is faster than the client draws them on screen .. so other people dont even see them spawn.

Mage pvp was a hoot .. precast explosion ...wait 3 seconds ...target someone then cast flamestrike on the same target.. both hit at exactly the same time and used to pretty much one shot any class

RunUO and yup the UOR server is essentially pre-pub 16 loveliness - with a few major/minor tweaks. No power scrolls and that bullshit.

You'd be surprised how few people explo/fs combos work on btw :p

There's some shit parts to defiance atm, but its the best I've ever played in terms of free shards.

Theyve changed the timing of daggering your spells, but theyre so advanced/unnoticable in 99% of gameplay you probably would be able to find out about it until it was too late :p Just means you cant explo eb, cancel with dagger and poison *as* effectively, which is a bummer, but tbh once you were good enough at it the only way for your opponent to escape it was to pot.

Get your ass on there and I'll hook you up with the means to get a char loaded n get can go gank some of the locals @ brit grave.

Shortly before I stopped playing as regularly (just refreshing houses/accounts now, since I am back on WoW) I was stocking up on +int/bless jews so I could go insta drop people with glacial staffs...now THAT was hoot :p

Im going to test out Guild Wars this/next week.. its only like 25 bucks and its focussing arround pvp.
+ its more complicated then WoW and to many it looks better too (although i think WoW style kicks butt).

Got a friend who plays it alot and since there is no monthly fee i thought why not ^^
