I heard that BT are upgrading their line to 3 Mb...this true? I also heard that even if you're not with BT (but use their line for broadband) you get upgraded to between 1 and 3 Mb with no charge. This true???
If so, looks like I'll be using bittorent a bit more...if not, then I'm sad.

i think blueyonder have put there service up to 1mb. BT have a B/W cap tho, hence the fast speeds for cheap

BT doubled the speed of all its Connections last month.
512 = 1mb
1mb = 2mb
And they dropped the price by £4

NTL is looking like going up to 3meg but there's a chance they'll stick a download limit on it.

Most of the UK broadband suppliers (cable and ADSL) are increasing their speeds
to around 1 - 3 MBps with a few advertising 8MBps. But, the catch seems to be that they have introduced monthly bandwidth limits, some as low as 3GB/Month.
So look into it carefully, you may have a faster speed but not be able to use it for long.

The ISPs in Denmark are doing the same thing.
I can get an 8 megabit line for 10 quid per month! - with a download limit of 200 mb.

If you want an ISP in the UK, try UKOnline, 8mb for £40.

So that means u aint got a 8mb connection....
Copper wires can only go to about 3-4mb(Depending on distance from exchange).
If thats the deal... Raj, save yourself some money and go Blueyonder lol

No u f00l.... The only reason BY rock is cuz they use Fibre Optic cables which allow higher data transfer speeds than Copper Wiring....
