I can't see your docs, the link sends me to somewhere to log on :(
As for a hard drive showing RAW files, that means (usually) that the "File allocation table" has been lost, that tells your comp what to do with your drive to find things on it.
This often means a duff drive, but first try to see if you can go to the disk makers site for a utility to check the drive out.
Did this happen suddenly, or after a bad shutdown/power surge/crash or just on booting?
What make and model drive is it?
Its possible that you could use the fdisk/mbr switch in dos to rebuild the FAT, using ntfs in xp you'd use fixmbr \Device\HardDisk0 fromt the recovery console, but its worth checking out if the disk is lost first.
If the drive is not the boot drive, neither of these will work.

Still go to a page to log in on your pics :(
For Seagate tools go here (http://www.seagate.com/support/seatools/B7a.html)
You don't mention much detail about your drive, ide, sata, internal, external.
but that tool covers most types.

Run your Win2k/WinXP cd and choose repair installation.
When it asks if u wanna use the adv recovery console, choose yes.
When its up type CHKDSK /F
iirc that will correct the failure in your File Allocation Table and make your drive bootable again.
If that doesnt work then your drive is bolloxed

if u don't have it and u need it, u should get it.
Be like water my friend,
if u put water into a teapot it becomes the teapot,
if u put water into a glass it becomes the glass,
if u put water into something it becomes something like that.
Just be like water and make a part of your body becomming a "Windows Automated Syatem Recovery Disk" or something like that.
