I think it would be fair to expect these stats to improve as the beta progresses.

Yay, finally a choice!

*edit*

Makes me wonder how its gonna work tho, I'm guessing we will still be "expected" to go for the heal shit for raiding, but does that mean we will need to win as many as the pieces as we need (want) to get the suits?

Ie if it works as hand in's, ala aq40/nax, we will need to spend dkp on items for both healing AND then our out-of-raids fun suits? Sounds kinda like we're getting the shaft if this is the case. We also get the shaft if its drops, waiting between 3 suits worth of drops to complete whichever one were set on.

I've always envied non-hybrid classes when it comes to itemisation.

be glad lads!!
seems you wont have to be competing with non-hybrids in their armorclass anymore. And the situation is no different then its now..a hybrid just needs more sets of gear; wich is also a bonus cause u will get bored slower in general.

don't feel that you're the one getting 'shafted' m8. every class pretty much has 2 sets. This is for people who complained in the past about not having grinding/pvp gear drops for thier class in pve instances. for those that care enough about pvp, you'll have to pay 2x for every item as getting pve gear is just as important.

Yea I see your point, and it is a nice way to gear up I spose (to have options). Just need to find out more of how it works, it'll be an arse having to gear up x3 times to complete sets n all tho.

3 sets, but are you gonna be bothered to get elemental, healing and enhancement? think heal/elemental or heal/enchancment would make more sence

Well yea, I probably wont. I think I got "kid in a toy shop" type syndrome :p

My gripe is, generally, when you build a suit for a class with a straight forward role, you dont need as much gear. Maybe some extra pieces depending on whether you want more damage or more crit/hit etc. Playing a shaman feels like you need a packmule with you for your extra gear.

well, you gotta look at other classes too. Sure shamans can go healing, pew pew and smack smack in their builds/items. And sure this means that shamans have to work on more then one set of gear compared to - say, mages or warlocks. But look at other classes:

Druids: Moonkin, Feral, Healing - same as you - they gotta work on all 3 if they want to.

Paladins: Healing, Melee or Holyshock-spamming-spelldmg-whores. Again, 3 sets.

Mages: Fine, they can get pretty much 1 set - but some still have to pick up a couple other items for pvp as different stats help in pvp compared to pve.

Warlocks: Same as mages (who cares anyway).

Priests: Pew Pew or Healing (some may argue that pew pew = either shadow or lolsmite, but they're pretty much the same). 2 sets, so it isnt too bad.

Rogues: Like mages/warlocks - pve gear is fine but some different items for serious pvpers would help.

Hunter: See rogues.

Warriors: Now, warriors have sure, dps or tanking. Dps (like preists) can be argued into 2 corners - fury and arms. You need different +hit and different crit/ap for each build. So thats generally 2 different sets. Now, you're gonna say thats not too bad.. but look into a MT's backpack/bank and then say it. A MT has to collect normal tanking gear, FR tanking gear, NR tanking gear, SR tanking gear and FrR tanking gear. Thats 5 or so extra sets that the warrior has to spend his dkp/time farming in order for his raidgroup to get anywhere. No class can whine about gear until they have played a MT. (go inspect niko's bags if you don't belive me)

Well if you include resist set for each magic type then its at least 8 sets for Shamans.

I don't envy MT's in any respect.

It's still an assload more gear we need than most, but at least it affords us some options.

not my gear that take a lot of space its my pots. Most times you can plan ahead since you know the bosses you are going to do and take gear after that. But pots you have to have loads and loads to allow wipes and borrow out to slackers that have forgot their own.

When I go to BWL I have 2 spots free for water and I have already thrown into bank all i can, like fishing rods, pvp and fun gear etc.

I have 16 items for healing, 16 for melee damage, 12 for spelldamage, 8-14 fire res (melee fire res, healing fire res), about 16 consumables...

Its a burden, yes, really looking foward to be able to drop some items in TBC, but at the same time extremely versatile - I switch on a pull per pull bases gear for the best benefit possible. Itemrack FTW.

BWT: Is it still true that DPS warriors live with 0 aggro reduction, while even shamans got -15% threat talent on melee attacks?

Defensive stance +30% aggro to everything*
Battle stance -20% aggro
Zerker stance -20% aggro

(*not including gains, like ragegain or buffs)

Stack it up with the fact that you need to overaggro by 10% (i.e. get to 110% of tank threat) to pull aggro in melee (it's 130% for ranged), and warriors actually have a pretty ok total amount of aggro reduction.
