How big is this game if anyone know? I have now downloaded 15 gig when I ran out of space, so I threw some old shit away and when I reconected I started downloading again.

since when is 20 gig nothing. that's the first game i hear of that needs that much. so when it's going to be released it will be on 4 dvds? what's so big in the game?

The world is about 10x bigger than the whole gameworld in WoW + Expansion.

and why would you want such a large game world? the servers will not be able to handle that many players anyway and 80% of the world will be empty. that's not exactly what i expect from a mmo.

The servers should be able to hold about 4x the pop of a WoW server and Player Citys will be a major part of the game, hence the needed space for all those citys and towns.

Big empty space is good. They said from the start they wanted to put the adventure back into the games. Personally I like the idea.

As for the guild beta, it's nice to know that RL also made the guild app, however, the application being on some closed forum doesn't exactly allow people to sign up to it :) Had I known there is such app, I would have signed up immediately.

Well, I thought that being in RL would make me the group member, but if I am not then I can join it, of course. Still, as I understand, the guild was already accepted into the beta. Can some officer in Vanguard beta check with Sigil GM's about adding more people into the guild beta?

Also, there's this feature in betas often called "invite a friend", basically every person in beta may invite another person in as well. Maybe could check if this is available in guild beta too and if yes, we could literally double the RL size in Vanguard like this.

Have to say actually Vanguard does feel a lot like SWG, in fact almost completely like it. I will give it some more of a look later on but really I'm not that impressed by the mechanics of it, which is about the only thing that it's fair to appraise from a beta.

I give credit to Sigil for having their prioritys straight, Kill the Lag before you add the content.

Lag is bad, but to be honest if the fundamentals of the game aren't there I can't see that making it smooth really helps.

Well atm, Beta 3 is all about Server Load and lag, 4 & 5 will be about the content.

The worry with Vanguard is I'm not seeing enough in the core game to hold my attention. It's a level grind, it's a click and fight job, and it feels a lot like SWG.

Yep, I sure am, though right now I am waiting for my new PC to arrive. My current one was too weak for VG, so I ordered a new one. In couple of days it'll be here and stuff will be running then lightning fast :D

Well it's totally unoptimized at the moment, so my PC can struggle with it occasionally

Athlon 64 X2 4400, 2GB Dual Channel RAM, 2 x 6800GT (SLI), SB X-Fi

Obviously, with no SLI support in-game until a later beta phase, only one of those cards is being used.

Yeah, I got something similar, Athlon 64 X2 4600, 2Gb good RAM , but went with non-SLI solution right now, went with 7950 GT 512Mb. Figure that if the SLI will at some point fancy me, can always switch over for it. With wee bit of additional cash but that's just a detail :)
