this spec should dominate the damage meters.
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent-bc=kf0E00fdfboZxgM0fcc0x
it has lots of crit on spells, many talents that increase dmg by % (consider that in TBC your mage will prolly have 600-800 +dmg but that is just my guess) and it has many mana effeciency talents. all in all you will do much more damage than any frost spec on a boss.

i would put points in combustion and work my down to empowered fireball. now that would own/ like this build: http://www.wowhead.com/?talent-bc=kf0E00cZxgMzfcc0xsx0h
only thing i'm a bit miffed at what a 'wounded' target is. and the point i stuck in pyrobalst is probably a waste, not sure if would be better off elsewhere but i needed there to get to empowered fireball

yep, i thought about empowered fireball as well but i do not quite understand what molten fury does. when is a target wounded? when it's bleeding? (which means you need warriors with deep wounds or rogues doing their dot finisher etc.).
in my build you have arcane instability which will work with scorch.

tooltips are updated and empowered fireball adds 10 additional percent. with that talent the FB indeed gets a good chunk more punch.

wth do you plan on using for dmg? a 3s frostbolt or 3.5 fireball???
if your going for scorch get imp scorch atleast and seeing how you have the 25% more spell dmg its utter useless cuz scorch only gets 43% dmg of spell dmg...

well, with all the points in arcane, maybe he's gonna use Arcane Missiles... a shadow priests dream.

arcane missiles cost 655, prolly 700+ with a new rank so its in no way mana effecient or mana used compared to dmg

well it's mostly a BG talent tree, 3.5 sec fireball is just as good as 3 sec fireball if the other guy is sheeped, and then there's the classic AP-POM-Pyro... then 25% int in dmg is just a cherry on top and basically there to get down to Slow, not to help scorch...
and yeah scorch/fireblast are pretty ok if u have some decent gear.
even without AP/POM u always have sheep/slow/nova/blink (and of course invisibility to stay away from unnecessary fights and/or engage at will) and all that to keep your opponent at bay.
anyway i think Slow will be picked up by many and add another ace in the sleeves of mages along with the above mentioned standard spells.
MiMarz is right, maybe it's not the best tree in regards to steady and good damage (meaning without having to use AP/POM) but i think it has its strong points

your tree looked more like a sheep the oppenent give it all you got in one shot, if you fuck up there isnt to much to keep you alive

haha well i believe this is the story of the life of all mages regardless of talents... not so much any of us can do about that, others have ice block, others have AP/POM others rely on leet sheeping/grenade stunning/counterspelling and all the tricks we all use... but this is very accurate, Mages are one of the classes where mistakes are most of the time critical.

now that blizzard have revamped the BC talents, i quite like this fire build for pve now, slightly reorganised from last one. i wish i could put more points in molten fury, mage execute ftw!! :)
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent-bc=kf0E00cZxgM0fcc0ekx0h
and p3ta m8, re-arange your build, its a complete mess. imp flamestrike? all those utterly useless points in arcane? and u got pom with no pyroblast...

moose i would take two points out of imp scorch and put them in to pyro and blastwave so you dont gimp yourself to much on the pve aoe side and pvp

pft nah waste tbh. this is a pve build and just for pve. anyway, dont need blast wave to kill things even in pvp, esp with paria about also :)

blastwave is a good replacement since you dont have shatter anymore in my opinion. and we also have and imp scorch mage always keeping the debuff up

ah its always nice to have 3/3 imp scorch for myself, and if all mages have it then its easier to keep it going in case 1 or 2 die. and for aoe, i would rather not have to be that close to do blastwave to the mobs and do ranged aoe instead.

for PVP i can see the talent Blazing speed become really handy to get distance fast.. also dragons breath is sorta like gimped scatter shot (shorter range, shorter stun) but still handy to get off 1 fireball extra.
the water elemental gives u a big boost to ur PVE damage from what i could read on the BC-forums. 600 dmg/bolt isnt bad, and u can have it out about 30% of the time. Also the ranged-frostnova is quite handy i'd imagine.
As for slow; well i dont think its worth gimpin urself to go that deep down to arcane tree just for slow. Cause its dispellable ( i think?), and has limited uses.
But maybe if u do go down that deep u might use arcane blast as a solid main nuke?

When I get my Blood Elf Mage to 70, I am thinking of having this build here. (http://www.wowhead.com/?talent-bc=RbhVfRbzxIzbZZVVGcobx)
It may be bizzar to some, but I am thinking shit loads of spell power (I could go fire for more but i am thinking of using this to grind, and lvl) and with my horribley spell increased frost spells it will have 150% damage bonus on crits :D
Take a look and give me some feedback.
P.S That Magister Blood Elf Rommath, I saved that name on BS just incase I name my Mage that :p
Thinking about it, I mgiht go Frost! (http://www.wowhead.com/?talent-bc=obhVfRbZZVVGcobxRVox) Leaving one point open, since I am undesided to go for the Elemental or PoM
