Resource Files
We need to make .res (http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=197976) file for de_rats and other custom maps so the textures and sounds get downloaded. This tool (http://www.unitedadmins.com/index.php?p=content&content=resgen) might be useful. Damn, it doesn't work with HL2 maps :(

Map Hosting
I can set up an ftp account so maps can be uploaded to this web server to make distribution easier.

Think I have got a .res file sorted. Ludi can you get mpuk to unzip this into the maps folder so we can give it a try?

We should give the DJ_Bourgeoisie maps a go... :)

Is it worth it? it will take em a day or 2 to upload but by then we will have the jolt server :)

You're right :)

The res file is important for maps that come with extra textures and so on, they won't get downloaded if its not present and listing all the required files.

Don't bother with the DJ maps. Whilst his texturing is reasonable, he has no concept of scale in the remake of docks and mansion (it was like being a hobbit) and his orignal map courthouse had a really awful layout. All three were filling up my console with warning errors.

From the maps I have seen for cs:s so far I have to come to the conclusion that no one knows what they are doing... zt_assault comes with a zip of most of the guys materials folder, including the valve sparypaints and textures from other maps :rolleyes:

The only reasonable attempt I have seen so far is de_rats, but whilst the physics objects are nice, there are some odd bugs and he didn't do the res file :(

I like docks...... but thats because its docks and I liked the map docks.
