Has anyone heard about this game? It's mostly about PvP and guilds can compete to take hold of pieces of land. This game also has skill based combat system, not the level based combat system most mmos have nowadays.

Anyways they're accepting guild beta invites and i wanted to know if you guys wanted to put up a few players through beta :D because I sure would love to try out this game.

darkfall is considered the NEXT BIG thing when it comes to MMO's by many.
there is a big big hype arround it, and true PVPers (as they call themselves) look to this game for their salvation.

I don't think there's ever going to be a 'big' thing again. I doubt any game will ever be as successful as WoW was. WoW was the first MMO that millions of people played, in future as the market expands you can bet they'll be shopping around more. Unless the global population of gamers goes up a lot I don't think we'll see too many games with 500k+ players.

Online games move too slow for that, people play them for years. Until a bona fide 'WoW Killer' appears, complete with hype and pedigree, that's not going to happen.

warhammer online could do it, but yeah, wont be another 5 years at least before any game that could beat wow is released.

Looks interesting. Been looking/waiting/wishing for a more skillbased mmo game (á la Planetside) rather than the itembased roll-of-dice concepts and now that Conan's been pushed back to mach-may 2007 and Huxley's coming "sometime in 2007" this one might be something to try out.

If WoW was a true MMORPG (Persistant world) it would hold my attention a lot more. It's not though, it's an MMOHNS (hack n slash).

Sadly that's what passes for an RPG these days. What used to be 'Role Playing Game' really just means 'Stat Based Combat Grind'.
