I'm looking to by the cheapest DVD recorder avaliable. I just want to record the 24 episodes onto dvd so i can send them to my brother. Anyone got any recommendations?
I looked at amazon.co.uk and the cheapest there is for £129. I'm hoping to go a bit cheaper

Are you looking for a standalone device, or one that fits in your comp?
The latter can be so cheap that you could throw it away after using it :)

If you have the right gfx card u can record from TV onto your HDD and then write it to DVD... I think.
If you really need a stand alone one, well ur fucked. They're really expensive.

Just a thought,
Couldn't you download the 24 series off DC++ or Torrents (They're definately available)
Then use tMPGenc to convert them to DVD files. Or even DVD Santa if you're a DVD noobzor. Then burn them with your DVD writer, if you don't have one, the cheapest IDE one at www.scan.co.uk is £42.
I think the episodes are about 45 minutes each so you could comfortably fit 4-5 on a single layer DVD-r.
If you're only doing all this to get a series of 24 on DVD then surely this would be the cheapest option.
How much is the series box-set?
