Howdy all,
Well, I'm back from vacation (1 week without my beloved computer -- AHHH!) and after getting the patch downloaded I tried to play for a bit last night. Of course, the little lady wasn't too keen on it so I had to go quickly. Anyway, this is just a bit of back drop for some bad news.
I feel as though I am failing the Outfit, and I don't like the feeling. I wish I had more time to be more involved in the game. But it seems that the Love of my life and the Love of my game do not mix well.
Therefore, I would like to be reduced in rank to Renegade and removed from Moderator status. I wish I could do more, but I hate feeling like I'm letting the group down.
But before I do get demoted, I would like to throw out some thoughts I've been having.
1.) When I play PS it is for the coordination and teamwork. Renegade Legion has always excelled at this. However, there are a few "old timers" that seem to think being "veterans" allows them to no longer have to work with the team.
2.) Solo play is on the rise, unfortunately, and I can't stand it.
3.) Having defined leadership is REQUIRED for a team to function properly. That being said, we should also give anyone that would like to try leadership the opportunity. We need to get back to the basics, and by that I mean having a person who is calling out the "plan".
4.) This is in no way a personal attack against anyone. These are just thoughts I've been having.
5.) There is an interesting offer on the table by Eliminator. Check it out at :
http://psforums.station.sony.com/ps/board/message?board.id=pswerner&message.id=193364
Basically he wants to get together an elite group of players and get them trained up. I know it's hard to think of anyone more elite then us, but I have to admit that Eliminator knows PS very well. He can be a bit of a character, and his ego is sometimes out of control, but I think this is a unique opportunity for people (even people who think they know everything) to coordinate with some of the other great players on the NC.
I figure if we can get enough of us on board with his project we can get a serious "outfit alliance" with the likes of Mercanaries or Instinct. Both very good outfit's that we don't do enough with.
I know, I know. We've tried Outfit alliances in the past, and though I see them as a success, most probably see them as a failure. I think Elim's proposal is a bit different though. I think if we get down a "doctrine of tactics", ideas and procedures for fighting our enemy, that are formalized enough that it is shared by several of the "Good" outfits. Will have the ulitimate effect of improving the NC's global position on a daily basis.
Anyway. These are my thoughts. What are yours?
PS: Oh, and I would like to remind everyone that this is _NOT_ a personal attack at anyone, and I do feel like a right bastard for failing in my duties.

i find solo play rather dull, working as a team is far more fun thats my 2 cents.
in responce to what you have said tata i dont think your should be demoted just because you cant play the game that much. im sure we can all understand that your life comes before a game and if you cant play the game much because of that i dont mind and dont think you should be demoted because of it. if your reading this and thinking "wtf this doesent make sense" im very crap at putting things into words

I'll skip 1 through 4 since I don't see myself resubbing PS anytime soon, if at all.
Anyways, about eliminatorr ...
I've squadded with him several times ingame, have had plenty of discussions with him etc. and I can safely say that of all the people I have EVER met online, he is by far the most arrogant, self-centered pain in the ass. Even worse than Draeger from diabloii.net, and that's saying a lot.
At some point we were draining a base on Ishundar. There were some enemy deployables around the base - we wanted to get rid of them, but obviously didn't want to make any hotspots. Elim said "jammer them first and they won't make hotspots". So ok, I jammered a spit and shot it. It caused a hotspot. For the next 5 minutes he went ballistic about me "not doing it right and ruining the base drain".
The guy might know a lot about the game, but he's just such an incredible asshole that he really ain't worth using any time on ('cept may the few secs it takes to put him on ignore).

Well funny eliminator mentioned that. Because yesterday RL,Mercenarys and some other outfits combined forces and opend up Amerish... (tihih) and we pretty much held of 2:1 vs attacks until the rest of NC came. The plan was originally to just withdraw some VS forces off Searhus so that the rest of NC had a better chance there, But unfortunatly they lost and it all came down to Amerish.
The feedback i got from mercs was very positive and Beckbond was looking forward to coop with us in the future.
Anyways im just saying im all in for the Alliance of outfits all the way:)

NO!
Just because you are limited in time to play doesn't alter your abilities when in game. Don't beat yourself up over it, you can't play as much as you used to, get over it :)
1, Coordination and teamwork: we still do this, albeit on a lesser scale when numbers are low.
2, Solo players: we don't have much of this really, anyway what is the point of a person who is normally an excellant teamplayer joining a team if their mindset is wrong for it at that time? Players are allowed to solo, that won't change. I also think you've been unfortunate in your timing here, when I've been online I don't see solo play much.
3, Leadership: Is needed, more should try it, if anyone wants a go at leading, say so, I'm sure that others will give them their backing.
4, Ignored, as only being a worry not to upset people, (you don't make an omelette without breaking eggs)
5, I've squadded with Eliminatorr many times, its not a nice experience. Which is a great loss as he has a lot to offer, just that he is well named Irritator. I keep hoping that he will learn some diplomacy/person to person skills, sadly that seems unlikely. I guess his day job is a morgue cleaner, can't see why he would act the way he does otherwise.

Don't see a reason for your demotion Tata, you lead when you have time to play since you do it well. And you have time to play when you have time to play, we're in this for fun not obligation.
Regarding Elim:
While i do agree that he's an arrogant bastard and has an ego the size of Cyssor, i do recognise his ability to read the game and tactical aspects of it.
How about we offer Renegade Legion (when we have too small a squad to do stuff independently and/or are lacking commanders to call the play) to deploy by his call? I don't mean being directly commanded by him, but to take targets & missions from him to support his own crew.
E.g. Elim's moving his own lot to attack a certain base and calls us to take the spawns out or a nearby tower. RL then proceeds by our own SL and doctrine to accomplish that task - we certainly don't need anyone to hold our hands and walk us through how the particulars of spec ops missions are carried out.
Might be worth a try imho, the random minizerging get stale fast.

Demotion declined, Tata.
You are way too valuable as an officer to lose you.
@ Elim: I have squadded with him sometimes when i was defending home conts and there were only 2-6 nc on the cont.
This being said he is by far the most arrogant tit in the whole game.
Dont know what he plans but im certainly not up for anything under his command.
Way too immature to be a good commander.

Theres no way we're going to demote yout just because Real Life™ gets in the way of your gametime -- its a problem that affects all of us from time to time :)
As far as Elimm goes... despite his knowledge of the game, his people skills are none existant and as everyone else has said he certainly deserves the nickname "Irritator" :)

Yea granted he is a twat.
Anyhoo after tonight i'm not bothered by the low numbers, Mimarz and Jojo ran a bloody good armour squad. Can do with less people and actually good fun when we keep the coordination together. More of that pls. :)

I never had the chance to play with that Eliminator guy but....what exactly makes him so special? What special knowledge does he have?

@Derek:
According to himself he himself know enough about the game to ...
"Singlehandedly stop any force of less than 45 enemies from being able to take a base on any NC continent"
And that's a quote from one of his many ego-rants on the PS forums. Go search for his username, shouldn't be hard to find one of them.
Personally, I call bullshit on that one, as I do on his ability to lead. Not only does he completely lack the ability to make people feel like following his orders, he also has so little experience with big squads/platoons (I've never heard about him being in a squad of more than 5 players) that I really don't think any of his "revolutionary strategies" are worth jack shit.

one of the newest posts of The Irritator in the official forum. read his reply to disgruntedUser and you get an imagination of what kind of guy Eliminator is.
Btw keep in mind that Elim is at most a medicore skilled player. Maybe even worse. The only thing he has is some knowledge... and a fucking bad behaviour. Jealous little baastard he is.
Thread Title: Who the hell is Moose9299???
Up until few months ago, I had never heard of this guy, and now recently he's on the daily leaderboards, taking on 4+ people at a time without taking any damage, and killing full health/armor rexo's in 2 plasma grenades, not to mention he has 45k kills. Is this guy the new AzK or is it just me?
He's not that good. You're most likely seeing him take down n00bs or he's lagging on their screens.
he really thinks that no one else besides him has any skill in this game.
he is a cretin. nuff said.

While I am waiting to get back into PS (After i23, March 25th), I still think you should not resign, real life may take precedent, but it does not give you a good reason to lose your role :P.
Regarding Eliminator: Egotistical Arragont Tit is the nicest phrase I can think of him at the moment. I have had the pleasure of never having to squad with him, but some of the rubbish he comes out with.......

I have actually squadded with elim quite a few times, back before I joined renegade legion. I remember sending the second in command a tell that was something like this: Oh lord is this twat your outfit leader?
And I got some reply saying: nah, he just thinks he is, yat along with him.
My point being, that even the people he played with daily didn't really like him much.. heh.
As far as I concerned he is a number cruncher, who has a lot of knowledge of how much damage a gauss does to the generator at x meters, and how many bugs planetside has gotten the last few months.
Thats about all I got to say about the fella really, he is stuck up, easy to angry, and knows squat about reall squad work.
