Amount of People online :/

I’ve been in the RL pretty much since it was formed many many months ago. But the numbers of players online every night is dwindeling down so fast its just sad. We are at a all time low.

Last night during the mono event I think there was a total of 6 players or such online – So I’m considering leaving to join a more active outfit or a least a regurlar crew to play with as doing groups of 4-6 people doesn’t have much point to it.
I’m gonna give it a week or two soloing/grouping and see if its just the WoW trend thats knocking people off the game and that they will properly be back soon as soon as the treadmill bores them.

Personally I'm just bored of my NC characters....I play VS in emerald most of the time...the outfit I'm trying to join there is just what I ever wanted in PS o_0

Also I play TR in Werner quite a lot too....TR are good phun :D

Yep, as soon as Alienware take their head out of their ass and send me my new PC I should be back on PS in about 2 weeks. At the minute Im playing alot of WoW and RL all seem to be playing it. Hopefully WoW will die down when the novelty wears off and people start playing PS again, Im sure everyone playing WoW at the minute is just a little too focused on levelling up their characters at the minute and will get bored pretty soon.

imo, we failed to recruit a constant flow of fresh blood. Our recruitment rules are either too burocratic or like now, they dont even exist.

however, if I remember correctly there were always times when RL was low in activity in PS. It's like a sinusoidal curve ;)

Argh misunderstood me there m8 :(

RL was and will be the best fun but atm it's not...dunno what's wrong, maybe the people that are missing but it's just not the old RL with gal drops, gen holds and that stuff....
Maybe my playstyle changed too...i no longer love being in a rexo all the time, i like a trusty JH/MCG/Lasher, a rocket rifle and a mosquito now :D

I just can't get that playstyle in a whole outfit anywhere else :(

Low numbers is always going to be a problem when things like WoW come out, the hope is that some drift back though.

Also things like the old gen busts/holds aren't as useful as they were previously, the number of players needed to do a proper hold is too high a percentage of the total pop now (since the drop to 133 poplock). Also what does disabling a tech plant mean now? Much less than it did, all BFR drivers can still get their vehicles. So nothing like as useful as it used to be :(

All that said, those that were online line last night in our 6~8 man squad will probably agree that we had a great time, did some useful, but not ground breaking, stuff.

We've also platooned with other outfits/groups and have done more serious stuff recently, like gen busts/hacks (need to be both together now most of the time to be relevant).

Unless we do get more online though, there is little that can be done on the grander scale, we can do special ops, but we don't have the numbers to hold, it just means picking the target carefully.

Targets are also a problem though, with one cont poplocked, and the remaining 5-15 people queuing to get on it, there are few that can take advantage of a new front/hack, so its true to say that things are different for everyone if numbers in game don't rise.

Recruiting, we have been keeping a lookout for people all the time, I believe we got a new member yesterday, just waiting for him to post his hello. I believe that every member should be aware of the need for players and invite any hopefuls that seem sound, simply if they aren't we kick them :)

It's annoying. I WANNA play PS. I miss it. But I also want to play STALKER, KOTOR2, Warcraft 3, Half Life 2, Counter Strike: Source, Rome: Total War and so on. I have lots of work to do and I want to try WoW. Plus there are few ppl playing PS and those that do have mostly joined since I left so I don't know them. Maybe if PS is still going strong when I'm bored of WoW I'll come back.

Even though my list of wanting to play games is a bit smaller (mainly HL2, Stalker, BF2) I still like playing source now and then. Currently, I'm playing WoW, but I dont know how long it'll last. EVE, which i'm now completely bored of, lasted just over a week, so hopefully, WoW will last a bit longer. It's true, all RPGs are pretty much completely boring and repetative. I want BF2 really badly.

When I get my new computer (end March) I will resub PS and hopefully start production on Renegade Legion's movie, if I can get enough helping hands (that means all of you!)

i dont believe there is any reason to start panicking about the legion. the numbers will always rise and fall in planetside, that its strange charm.

after the bfr's first came, the sitaution was the same if not worse but numbers creeped up to a point where we had two full gals on a regular basis and one week we even had a near full platoon online! :)

another problem in the past week is that most of the leaders have either un-subbed or been away (now i'm not trying to make u guys concerned feel guilty at all, honest!) so the rest of us have just been following the zerg or doing killwhoring to pass the time until we get our act together... :confused:
