Command Recall is a feature that would allow a Squad or Platoon leader to set a common secondary point for their followers, recall to their location or recall to the Sanctuary. The objective is to give Commanders a tool by which they can keep their groups well-organized and have better control of their position.
Functions
A Commander is able to set a team’s secondary bind point to a specific facility. When they are at that facility, they are able to issue the secondary bind command, which grants every member of the Squad or Platoon a second bind facility they can respawn at. Secondary binds issued to by Platoon Leaders to the entire Platoon will override any secondary binds issued by a subordinate squad Commander in the Platoon.
When a Commander wants to recall his troops to that facility, he must be in the facility’s SOI and can issue the Command from a facility’s Main Terminal. If the Commander wants to muster his troops to a facility he is not bound to, he can issue the Bind and Muster command, which will first set the Squad Secondary Bind to the current facility and next summon the Squad or Platoon members to that facility.
Command Tools
There are two different means by which a Commander can activate this feature. Major functionality will be accessed through a facility’s Main Terminal (currently unused and located in the facility main room). To use the Main Terminal, a facility would have to be secure (unhacked) and fully powered (generator online), have at least one functioning spawn tube and be in the control of the command leader’s Empire. Group members would matrix in that facility’s spawn tubes. This feature will be available for all Squad or Platoon Commanders at the facility main terminal, regardless of Command Rank.
Soldiers over Command Rank 2 have access to the Command Uplink Device (CUD) to upload orders and receive information from Empire systems. The Uplink Device does not have the necessary connection to reset squad secondary binds or to issue squad recall to bind that Facility Main Consoles do. However, they can be used to recall the squad or Platoon to Sanctuary and Commanders will be able to receive information on the timers for these abilities.
Squad Timer
Recall commands will be available on a twenty minute cycle. When the squad is formed or when the leadership of the squad is changed, the cycle will begin counting down, and the recall function will be available after the first cycle. This timer will reset when any of the available commands from the Main Console are issued.
