Howdy Renegades
yet another boring, pissy day at work so i summ up summin lill that will concern us in the coming weeks / months playing EQ2.
You have prolly realised we/me did recruit some lower level Trainees; due to the lack of higher level Player interest in joining our Ranks.
Now to help those lower levels i tought of maybe organise one or two
nights a week wich will be dedicated to the purpose of helping peeps grind XP.
Now due to the recent changes with the mentoring system we might be shit out of luck and very limited on some zones/instances wich mentoring still allow.
I have not gathered much infos on where this will still be possible.. therefore this thread; please post your ideas, tipps etc. to this topic.
I will try to organise those "levelling nights" twice a week and try to attend aswell everytime for "mentoring" reasons.
If you want to help; mentoring or as a not grouped Char. (walk along the low level grp and taunt the mobs off them) state in here so i see who's up for helping aswell.
thanks alot and bear with me that this office day will be over soon!
Cheerios!

Some of us are nearing the mid 40s which means that within a month we'll be exping in zones that have NO level cap for PvP. (Desert of Flames, Kingdom of Sky). This means that, given enough slack, level 70 Freeporters can really make things difficult for the Qeynos side. They have many level 50s already, who love to gank. We need our level-whores to keep going.
I know that a few people are feeling a little left behind, but with the new lowbies (nice recruitment btw) things should improve. The server average level is not very high atm, 35ish imo - because I can never find anyone to group with outside the guild.
I don't like the idea of "level night" to slow down the higher levels. But I am often available to help, and often ask "anyone need me for anything" in the guild. Most people ignore me, but I do mean it.

ermm .... im not talking about a level night to "slow down the whores ..."
im talking about an evening to push the lower levels to a more accurate level.

I know that your intentions are benign, but I can't quite figure out what you mean. Surely if a night is set aside to help lower level people, which is a nice thing to do, that means less time grinding exp for the others.
The best way to level in this game is to find a regular group of people to exp with, and with the new influx of recruits, this is now possible.
You can powerlevel a noob, and he is happy for a day. But teach a newbie how to level faster, and he is happy for his entire lifetime.
You can take a noob to water, but you can't make a noob drink.
One noob in the guild is worth two in the bush.

Oooo oooo noob proverb time!
;)
Check my thread on Darathar population for the "hidden message" regarding getting our asses levelled up simply as a matter of self defense.
I am personally a proponent of getting people the information they need and the tools to execute. This is not to say that I will not help out lower level members. If there's a quest thing to be done I am all over it for example. (Like kicking the crap out of FPers when our folks need T'Sanne.) I do not however wish to spend time mentored down for an extended period of time as a general rule.
I am FULL of information on quests to do, areas to explore, places the FPers may not have thought to level in, etc.
My opinion is that those individuals in a level range with each other should definitely try to meet up as much as possible. In addition, they should make friends outside the guild (it is easier in the lower levels) and maybe even win some new RL recruits that way.
On a PvE server I might be more inclined to stop my progress and not really worry about gaining levels that much. However on a PvP server those levels mean a lot to the defense of our faction, our guild, and ourselves. (Asumming we get our asses straightened out and manage to PvP a bit better. Mwahaha.)

Khammar has written what I wanted to say, but just a lot better.
But I have an excuse - I'm at work, I keep having to alt+tab and type in quick bursts.. hrhrhr.

With the new influx of players, I don't see too much of a problem with groups - although organising times and dates for quests etc is still a very good idea.
One reason being that (as Kham mentioned) if lower level groups are looking for a particular mob in a particular zone at a particular time, it makes it much easier for the Big Kahuna's to drop by for half an hour and prep the LZ, without too much interference to their schedules.
Just as an aside - I was ready for the ganking and the difficulty of trying to complete quests with enemies around. Indeed, I was quite looking forward to it. I wasn't ready for losing so much content though...
Playing PvE I enjoyed taking my time with each level, exploring the content and trying to get the best of each zone as it was appropriate to my level, "it's better to travel than it is to arrive" etc... Standing around grinding the same mobs forever bores me silly.
However, I can see the need for all players to have one high level toon asap, so I've resigned to the grind... I'll roll an alt later and take things a bit easier then i guess.
just some thoughts

btw if we speak about lvling: what is more effective: solo grinding yellows or grouping heroics? or even questing ( dont think so, quest xp sucks so far, cept for harclave ^^)

look at that guild : Hammerfest
http://eq2players.station.sony.com/en/guild_roster.vm?guildId=708212
they got a team to make quests, making even simple quests with group is very good way to level.
even simple quests are better because you can do it fast, you get exp for it
i got over 300 quests made and its my basic source of exp but on PvP servers its hard for me now to make even simple quests alone because of FP aggro in all main locations.
in group of 6, even without our highest level players we are quite save together to make quests in Zek or EL.
i am little silent mouse here :) i am new i dont want to rule i want to be simple soldier who obey all officers orders i even don’t speak English well (sorry :)
we got good playing elite 40+ players here, they cant help us very much, they can take us once a week for raid or special event. let them play together as they want. All the rest have to group more.
Just what i can to suggest is:
- play in groups
- set time for exp playing: "today starting 19 GMT ending 23 GMT all 30+ form group near Q ngate, 20+ Q sgate, we are waiting 10 minutes, and go"
- dont lose time waiting, talking, searching, hiding, running, seeming, killing FP...
- dont lose to much time for difficult high level quest now, they took to much time, we cant finish them becouse of time, i got about 10 started quests with guildmates with no end :(
- go to location, take all available quests and make them asap
- time is precious
- we need some good group leaders (we got them) to order all to move in same direction, dont stand in middle of nowhere and dont talk about "where we going now"
- its beter to make 3 simple quests than to do 1/5 HQ and dont finish it ever
that’s how Hammerfest Guild got average level 50

Soule is right. Quest exp is HUGE. I have a lot less NPC kills than some people but far more quests completed which means I am higher level. The best quest I've done so far gave me over 30% experience. I have completed multiple that have given me 10%.
Conjurors CAN solo well, but in a group killing mobs (particularly GROUPS of multiple mobs) they excel.

Dodge I think it was a really nice idea and I'm happy to be in a guild where the officers actually *do* something, think proactively about things like this, and actually have a clue about the game. I think the most important thing is that you were focusing on having guild nights where we all work together to accomplish a goal - that's cool. (and why I love raids).

aye Tolian .. i'll get more specific about my ideas .. was stressing out there in the office .. hehe
besides:
- DO them friggin collections as soon as possible ... i think those too are a hell of a way to gain XP . not rarely you will get up to 25% for a completed collection; the higher lvl the collection to your lvl the mroe XP u get.
==> on that note if you have left over collectibles hand em down to guildies pls.

mhh collections might be interesting didnt complete one yet though ^^
well anyways we should get a group going, especially for healer type classes it sux to solo 30+. aglaia couldnt get in a group last night, so we should really try to get a group running for almost all lvl ranges...
i dont care so much atm since conjurers solo very well but i wouldnt mind a nais xp group either

Well, with the recent Mentoring changes it should actually make this whole powerlevelling thing a trifle easier IMHO. There is nothing to stop a full group of say high 20's to mid 30's grouping up for Nek ROI etc and enlisting the help of a couple of the high level guys to shadow the group (Ungrouped of course) and nuke the bollocks out of the particular encounters which are difficult for the 20-30 group. As long as the quest group get the "Tag" on the encounter, and hits all the encounter mobs at least once, they'll get full exp for the kill, and the loot, even if mr High Level bomb machine 1 shots it.
Also if the quest group is getting harrassed by FP's then call the cavalry (http://www.kevingoebel.com/sound/cavalry.wav) and provided we're reasonably close, not getting our asses handed back to us with complimentary dinnerware ...we'll come running
