Everquest 2 - Anyone still play?

I know Hovis used to play and i was wondering if anyone still plays at all?

Looking to prolly create a guild on the Splitpaw EU server with Venome, my bro and a old mate or two...

Just wondering if anyone is interested?

I still play eq2..not too active atm :) w8ing for the new expansion so i can lvl to 60..yea i know cap will be 70 ..but everyone will check out the new stuff and the 50-60 stuff will be less crowded..and hopefully without bugs lol :)

Well, I have no idea what im gonna do..DDO or stay with PS and eq2 lol..i have to choose..money money money..anyways im w8ing for the new expansion and so also for the new pvp servers...hope its any cool :) im in the pvp beta but never checked it out lol

People will have to create a brand new char on these servers..so if u r gonna play on one of the pvp servers let me know :)

Well, i dunno about the PvP side of things... but PvE wise we are trying to setup a guild on Splitpaw... we are 1 or 2 people short tho :(

Actually its not...i lvled to 51 without grinding for hours...I lvled doing quests and exploring dungeons...(Oh yeah Dungeons have teh pwnzors loot now)

Even the solo content is excellent now..i lvl from 28 to 33 with my wizard by doing solo quests for every deputy in Enchanted lands..great and funquests with good rewards also. You even get to unlock soem quest for special tradeskill books.


Everquest has an amazing story...Just grab quests and run around lol..thats what i do. Never grind..you will miss too much of the game.

Yeah miz is right, i played eq2 from original beta launch, and ran a very successful guild in live ( top 3 on the server ) right up to the Desert of Flames expansion release. The expansion was really good, the combat 'changes' they implemented and the uber shafting of some classes wasn't. I stuck with it for a month or two to see if they fixed it but they didn't so i quit in disgust.

Fast forward 3 months and i logged in at the weekend just to see if anything had changed and well....

100% improvement!

the combat changes have been looked at and adjusted properly ( not perfect but when is any mmo combat? )
the use of skills has gone from the revised spam button system back to the casting time based ( soooo much better ).
And, most importantly, combat now seems more fun and varied. And requires a degree of skill, especially in teams.


As for the changes to actual content, well solo and small group content has dramatically improved. Quests have been revised to give more appropriate exp rewards ( and you can see what item rewards are available when accepting the quest ). There are tons of great zones and instances and truly engaging plot lines on some of the quests. Great graphics and server are relatively stable.

I was ready to jack in eq2 for good but after going back and keeping an open mind i am still of the opinion that it is the best fantasy based mmorpg on the market.......at the moment ( interested to see Vanguard and Middle Earth Online but thats another story lol ).

Basically eq2 is now more fun, more user friendly, less of a grind and looks beautiful on a decent pc. But like all online games, the big difference is having a decent group of people to game with.

As Ludi and I said last night, if we start a guild it will be a small very selective one which operates a very strict 'no wanker' policy :P ( not sure if ludi will get in then lol ).

Anyway, give it a try, you never know!
