Jack Thompson, the US lawyer and anti-video games guy is offering to give $10,000 to charity, if anyone makes his game idea. Now, this guy has basically blamed everything from Hiroshima to African debt on video games and is on a crusade against violent video games, constantly accusing violent games of creating and training killers. So what's his game idea? A young boy is beaten to death with a bat and his dad (the player) goes on an ultra violent killing spree. Ok, so the kid who killed the son was a gamer, and the games made him kill the son, but wtf?! If anybody knows flash, I think you should make it, then set up an anti-Jack Thompson charity and ask for the donation to be made to that

Hmmm, let's see..
America as roughly 350.000 gun killings a yeah, ther's roughly 250.000.000 people living in the us. That's 0,14% of the population killed each year.
Now, denmark has roughly 6 gun killings each yeah and 6.000.000 people living here.. that's 0,0001% of the population killed every year
Now, maybe just maybe, there's a connection between gun killings and gun law's (or lack there of). America have the most liberal gun laws in the world, it's easyer to legaly buy a gun in the US than in Russia, China, Irack well anywhere. And when you try to explain to Americans, that their gun laws, witch is still here as protection, is the same thing that's caursing many of their gun problems.
If you get the oppertunety, see "Bowling for Columbine" it's a Michael Moore movie about gun law's, gun fanatics and the Columbine school killings, it's a good movie, and it provokes thourghts about guns and gun use.
So Mr. "I blame games", should probberly wake up and smell the roses.
Edit: Sorry about the political rant.

But, but the constitution states that man has the right to bear arm's, i mean what if somone attacks the US.. they cant defend them selves from an invading horde of commie penguins.
so thats why i say: "AK47's for EVEYONE!!!!"

Actually, the most liberal gun laws of any country with gun laws (i.e. not Somalia) is Switzerland. Infact, it is compulsory to own a gun if you are male and between 18 and 45. However, Switzerland has one of the lowest gun crime rates in the world. I think it's more to do with attitude than the availability of guns, although this does have an impact.

Totally agree with Isador, seen the Bowling for Columbine film and it's all so true....Canada (saying Canada cos it's very close to US) has a very small percent of deaths from gun crimes, where's the difference.....hmmmmm :p

I think Canada and the US have somewhat similar gunlaws... I espcially like his experiment where he goes door to door in Canada and no one has their door locked, where as eveyone in the US have, and this is not some big city downtown, it's some surberbia town..
I would agree with you Vasquez, Attitude must be the main factor, cus let's face it, in most western minded countries it's not the biggest of challanges to get your hands on a gun, legal or not.
I heard that recently the Govuner of Florida (Brother to president G. Bush) has legalised civilians to carry loaded fire arms AND you are now allowed to "shoot to kill" should you feel your life is beeing threadend.... Erhm, if I know there's a risk that the man sitting next to me in the bus is carrying a loaded gun, I'm going to feel pretty threaded... It just makes no sence at all.

Well, it would make me feel safer to carry a gun. It would make me feel safer to know that a fair few people around me are responsible, sane and competent and carrying a gun - the situation in Switzerland. However, if I just knew that a fair few people around me are carrying guns, that'd be worrying because there's no guarantee they know how ot use them or that they'll use them responsibly.
Technicaly in the UK it's legal to shoot to kill if you feel your life is in danger, it just isn't spelt out like that in law and very few people have guns.
