so.... 40 lv60 ppl killed it..
from the movie i saw on fileplanet there were alot of less ppl killing it and they took it down under 50%.. hmm anyways... teamwork

On Tuesday January 13, we will be performing maintenance on the PlanetSide character database. At that time, characters on accounts that have been inactive for more than 90 days will be deleted. This means a number of names will be freed up for our player base to use. Characters on active accounts will not be affected, regardless of the last login, whether to that account or that character.
how come i didnt see anything on soe site :/

The Onyxia that was killed by the Koreans was the pre-pathced version, which is a lot easier than the current version. The patch fixed some bugs where she would not use her most powerful abilities, including the cracking of the ground that deals damage to everyone in the lair.
The new version was killed 2 days ago by the american guild Ruined. Dropped 2 purple items.

The Koreans beat Onyxia first, regardless of what the US people claim. The US version of Onyxia wasn't much harder. Besides, Onyxia will most likely get more changes in the future so by that logic the US kill will not count as well.
BTW that axe is not that great. One handed good DPS but its magical bonus is not good. Basically for raids, any weapons that add a DoT to a mob are no good due to the limit of debuff slots.

Maximum of 10 debuffs.
Meaning the moment the 11th debuff hits the mob the 1rst one is pushed off the list :/

Yes, warriors soloed amazingly before the 'awesome changes' that made them the gimped punching bags they are today. That video, I believe, was one of the primary reasons. It must have caused a panic at blizzard HQ ;)

I'm fairly convinced that the Hunter is also gimped. The hunter shines in ranged combat, but as soon as he gets stuck into close quarters (like in most dungeons or if the pet doesn't get aggro, he is dead meat.

The key to playing a good hunter is not to get stuck in melee. Primary asset is of course your pet with auto-growl on and enough focus to cast it every 5 seconds (Either disable auto-claw, or get the smartpet addon that manages your focus for you). While the mob is on your pet you are safe, but if you do too much damage through criticals or arcane/multi/aimed shot the mob is coming for you. Ideally you will be at max bow range from your pet, so you have time to cast concussive and a couple of shots before the mob reaches you which should hopefully have it nearly dead. If the mob coming for you has a lot of health, use concussive and then disengage + wingclip when it reaches you and run away through your pet so it tries to catch aggro again. Disengage is possibly the best skill in the hunters arsenal. Alternatively, just feign death when the mobs come running for you, as it will instantly remove all aggro on you and make the mob go for your pet.
In dungeons, it's usually not hard to find a place where you can get 8 yards of range, but it requires some positioning and backtracking. You can always pull a mob back to a location where you want to fight it. If you are in a room that is too small for ranged, let your pet tank the mob while you melee it. The hunter is not as good in melee as a warrior, rogue or paladin, but considerably better than cloth classes. At level 54 I have just over 3000 hp and a good chance to dogde, as well as mail armor that gives me about 30% damage reduction. Coupled with a mobile meat shield I can usually take a lot of punishment before going down (or feigning death ;) ) I can take a lot more punishment than Nyana, a rogue of the same level, especially if I distribute the damage between me and my pet using my aggro control abilities.
You can pull with aimed shot, but that will usually make it hard for your pet to grap aggro, leaving the monster coming for you. Especially when you do those 1500+ crits :)
The Hunter is definately not gimped for solo play, IMO it is one of the best, if not the best solo char in the game. Where the hunter has a problem is in top level instance groups at 60, where you are one of the least desired classes because of the lack of stuff you bring to a group. Mobs in those instances will slice your pet up in under 5 hits and you don't do as much damage as a rogue.

Thanks, I hadn't thought of using wing clip as a way to get some distance between myself and the mob, I've always been using it towards the end of the fight to stop the monster running off to his friends... :)
My big problem is when there is a group of tough monsters and my pet doesn't last long enough for me to seriously damage 1 of them, let alone kill 1 or two. Any tips?

If i fight 2 mobs at once, simply place freezing trap between you and the mobs, target the furthest away mob and pet attack, Aimed shot, concussion(make sure you get this of fast, you don't want the mob you are pounding to get to the trap first), serpent sting then arcane shot. If you start backing away as soon as you have fired concussion you will have plenty time to get all your shots off before the first mob reaches you and should only take a couple of meele shots to drop him.
While you are blasting the the furthest away mob the closest one will come straight at you and into the freezing trap, from then you have 10 secs to drop the first mob. If you have not quite finished the first mob by the time your trap fades then quickly send your pet on to the mob who has broken out of the trap(your pet will hold him np)finish the first mob then repeat the above combo or if he reaches you, continue to meele the first mob, once he's down put your pet on the 2nd mob wing clip(be sure you are far enough away from the mob before using aspect of cheetah as the mob will stun you if you are close enough.
With a bit of practice it's easy, give me a shout in game if you want some help m8 ;)

Yeah, basically as Bud says, place a freezing trap between the mobs and you, send the pet to aggro both of them, then fire a multishot so you get a hit on the mob the pet isn't holding. This saves you the trouble of having to switch targets. This also works with 3 mobs, that way you have one frozen, one on pet and one on you (activate AotM, detterence if you have it).
Multishot against single targets is actually better damage for your mana than arcane shot except against heavily armored mobs, though it seems that it sometimes interrupts your auto-shot sequence and can't be fired on the move.
Don't use serpent sting on a mob you want to mez in a freezing trap, as the damage proc will break the trap.
Atm. I'm specced 31 marksmanship with trueshot and the rest in survival. The entrapment talent is great (5 points gives 25% of frost/immo/expl traps immoblizing your target for 4-5 secs, which is a great way to control large pulls in instances using frost trap)
At 60, I'm not quite sure if I should respec and get counterattack, or keep 31 in marksmanship and get the 10% pet HP talent... I won't reach 60 in beta anyway, so I guess that decision is a long time down the road :) )

I've asked a budy about this video.
It's a warrior pre-nerf when 'bloodthirst' gave 100% critics @ 150% damage after you killed a mob.
Wonder why they nerfed it :rolleyes:
'Slam' is still in game and allows you to hit every 1.5s, ignoring the speed of you weapon.
