I go to start up my PC but when I switch it on it seems to power up ok but then all it does is beep at me (each beep lasting about 2 seconds), it doesnt show anything on the monitor or give me the option to start in safe mode.
Any ideas as to what could be wrong and how to fix it ?

how far into loading OS does it get before it starts to beep? It sounds like your BIOS is having trouble loading.

Does the BIOS boot screen show (the one with CPU freqs, mem test and whatnot) or is it just blank black and beeping?
If it's just black there's prolly something buggered with ur BIOS. Check your mobo manual how to reset your BIOS to default - it's often done by jumpers, but lacking that you can reset it by removing the flat battery near the BIOS chip and keeping it off for some time (no idea how long, make it a good half an hour maybe) which causes the chip to lose all changed settings and roll back to factory defaults. Also at least Epox boards have a numeric LED display embedded to the mobo itself which shows a reference number to a list on the manual of what's wrong (it might be just some loose component).
Keep in mind that my advice comes from fucking up a couple mobos in my time so those are tips i learned the hard (and expensive) way... :p

Panic over lads, found what was wrong.
Look like one of my RAM sticks was faulty, had to take all four out in turn and test each one. Looks like im going to have to slum it on only 3gb for a while until I can get a replacement.
Thanks to GA and Gunhead for your fast response.

I have had the same problems long time ago. And then I check two things.
1. Check that the cables are properly connected to the main board from the chassis (led, speaker etc)
2. Could be problem with the processor or memory. Check and see if they are properly connected.
This solved my problem anyway.

Me too. 1024mb was like omgwtfbbq gucci when I got it, now its standard issue :(
I got this a while back because a temperature sensor was unplugged - the one with the tiny little connector right at the back of your mobo like a millimeter away from the GPU...that was fun getting back in :/
