Holy Mastery
Spiritual Focus Rank 5
Illumination Rank 5
Divine Favor Rank 1
Holy Total: 11

nothing to discuss here. the best that holy offers. free crit heal every 2 mins and 70% no interrupt when taking damage.
think these 11 points are a must have in every paladin build.

Retribution Mastery
Benediction Rank 5
Improved Seal of the Crusader Rank 5
Deflection Rank 5
Seal of Command Rank 1 (for the occassional pvp)
Retribution Total: 16

15% less mana cost on retribution spells, buffed primary seal and 5% parry chance

Protection Mastery
Redoubt Rank 5
Improved Blessing of Protection Rank 2
Toughness Rank 5
Blessing of Sanctuary Rank 1
Improved Seal of Fury Rank 2
Shield Specialization Rank 5
Reckoning Rank 3
Holy Shield Rank 1
Protection Total: 25

after being victim of crit strike u get 60% extra attack and +30% block.
10% more armorclass and holy shield for extra block chance and extra damage output.
Blessing of Sanctuary (Places a Blessing on the friendly target, reducing damage dealt from all sources by 24 for 5 min)

you think this build can hold aggro well enough or do you need consecration for that ?
to be honest im only sure about the 11 points in holy.
except that i would like to take holy shock for pvp but thats 20 more points only to have 10% more max mana and holy shock :(

Holy Shock (Rank 3)
480 Mana 20 yd range
Instant cast 30 sec cooldown
Blasts the target with Holy energy, causing 365 to 395 Holy damage.

Consecration (Rank 4)
565 Mana
Instant cast 8 sec cooldown
Consecrates the land beneath Paladin, doing 384 Holy damage over 8 sec to enemies who enter the area.

Holy Shield (Rank 4)
320 Mana
Instant cast 10 sec cooldown
Requires Shields
Increases chance to block by 30% for 10 sec, and deals 130 Holy damage for each attack blocked while active. Each block expends a charge. 4 charges.

blessing of kings isnt worth it in my eyes but the sanctuary one + the increased parry chance and block chance looks tempting.
but was told that u need consecration to hold aggro. was it a troll or is that true ?

One thing i really dont get in WoW, if someone could clear it up..

Shields. What happens if you block? what does the number mean on the shield decription

Its the amount of maximum damage blocked afaik.

FuSs

usually u block like 2 times the amount of the number.
not sure how exactly it is modified. should be strength and ???

So when you have a shield which lists 15, there's a 5% chance to block 30 dmg? This seems to be completely worthless

Your block chance (Listed under abilities) is the chance to block all damage AFAIK, while the block number is subtracted more often, don't know how it is calculated. Don't forget the 1500-2000 armor you get from a shield as well.

after a crit this build has like 70% block chance for 10seconds.
it blocks 25% more due to shield specialization.
crits are pretty common at higher levels.
you deal 160 damage to your enemy if u block.
also u have ~25 points less damage due to the blessing.
and 2000 points more armor due to the shield.

all in all you get A LOT less damage.
only concern i have is that i might not be able to hold aggro well enough.
could drop the free crit heal every 2 mins and get consecration but this crit heal is one of the best things availible for a paladin.

Holy Mastary
------------
Improved Holy Light 3/3

Holy Mastary
------------
Improved Holy Light 3/3

Or:
Retribution Mastery
-------------------
Deflection 5/5
Seal of Command 1/1

2 unknown...

Paladins already have enought deffence so I relay think its smart to focues on attack power. Many mite say Pallyes are owerpowered, but is manly just becuase of the uber weapon quest we have at level 21-24 whichs last to about 35 max I have read. After that oure Pally weapons arnt that owerpweroed anymore and falls behind the warrior in damage
outputt, but not health ofC.

My goal for Pally Lev 60 is:
********************
Meduim Tank
( Not light tank as I view youre setup Shy, nor heavy tank as I view Warrior class )
Meduim Healer
Meduim Buffer

Jojo :)

i suggest you take Benediction instead of Blessing of Might because you are going for Blessing of Kings.
once you have BoK i guess you are not gonna use BoM anymore while -15% speel costs is still very usefull.
judgement become really expensive and -15% mana cost is nice.
not to mention that consecration is retribution spell so u safe 15% mana here as well.

Best of Talents

Holy Tree
Spiritual Focus 5/5 - 5 points in holy (70% uninterrupted spell)
Divine Favor 1/1 + Illumination 5/5 - 11 points in holy (crit heal for 0 mana every 2 mins)
Holy Shock 1/1 - 31 points in holy (range attack)

Protection Tree
Blessing of Sanctuary 1/1 - 11 points in protection (reduced damage from all sources)
Holy Shield 1/1 - 21 points in protection (increased block and deals damage for each block)

Retribution Tree
Benediction 5/5 - 5 points in retribution (retribution spell mana cost -15%)
Deflection 5/5 - 15 points in retribution (+5% parry chance)
Consecration 1/1 - 21 points in retribution (area effect short range attack)
Conviction 5/5 - 30 points in retribution (+5% crit chance)

thats my personal list of top talents.
holy shock is too expensive. it is the best asset to pvp for a paladin but u have to waste a lot of points on unimportant talents for it.

if u ever wanna play solo u have to spend 5 points in holy.
leaves 46 points for the other talents.

so for me its either
1.) holy shield + divine favor + deflection (healer + defensive tank)
2. ) or holy shield + consecration (defense + offense taunt)
3.) or conviction + consecration + divine favor (healer + offensive)

dont like nr3 cause it cant tank well enough. aggro isnt the prob but you cant take enough damage.
i prefer nr1 but im not too sure if you can hold aggro well enough.
nr2 is my build if nr1 aggro management doesnt work.

I'm quite sure I'll do the Holy Shield + Consecration build in retail, probably putting points in spiritual focus, then retribution up to consecration, then finally protection.

I'll probably use a 2-hander initially for soloing, but once I get above 40 I'll switch to 1h+shield and be more defensive. It depends a lot on how we follow eachother in levels, if we group a lot, playing defensive from the start might not be a problem.

I've played my Pala to level 56 and I have no problem soloing and I can hold the agro in a group as well. (I just never did it a lot :D)

If you use the Seal of Justice (Judged of course) and the use the Seal of Fury the mobs will have a hard time running away from a Paladin. And throw in a few Consecrations on top of that and I really doubt they will hit anything else that the Paladin.

And as to damage dealt from a Paladin I see no problem there. With my 2-H Axe I do between 155 and 190 DPS depending on buffs.

Yeah I can see that as a point ONCE I gett to BoK, but I think its better to resett the talants then and choose -15% than upping BoM :). Going for -15% from the start isnt any point for my build I think pro/con vise becuase I think am gonna use BoM pretty much until BoK. Thx for the tip btw.
