i cant use number kets in CSS.
i need them for the admin controls, voice comms, weapon switching and so on. ive tried both the numberpad and the numbers along the top of the keyboard and neither work. they work in other programs, but not in CSS.
ive reinstalled CSS and i still have the same problem.
HELP!

what exactly are you trying to bind commands to keys cos if this is the case the command is bind <key> <command>

i want the number keys (or any keys) to make menu choices for me. like u know when u open the voice comms menu, you can press 1 to say "cover me", 2 to say "ive got the bomb" and so on. when i press those keys, nothing happens. so i want to either get the usage back, or bind new keys to do that job. but i dont know what the name of those are. like reload is reload and primary fire is primary fire but i dunnp what "menu option 1" is :(

right i see what you mean...so basically you want to press a button so it says "cover me" or "affirmative" etc etc. or do you just want the menu that shows all those speach thingies?
if it is the first one your talking about i think it can be done but im not sure exactly how since i dont use them that often. and if it is the second then you can just through the options menu

No, what hes saying is somthings buggered, and that the number keys dont work, so if he opens buy menu he cant buy anything, if he opens up voice commands he cant press anything.

Have you tried turning num lock on and off?
Vasquez

yes, the keys work in everything else. ive tried numlock.
what i mean is:
the game's code is looking for "buttonpress1" and "buttonpress8" and so on. these occur when 1 and 8 are pressed. on mine, they don't. i want to change it so that either:
pressing another button like f1 (which would usually give "fbuttonpress1") will register as "buttonpress1" with the game
or
the game will look for "fbuttonpress1" instead of "buttonpress1"
this is with all menus, but most importantly with the admin menus. at the moment all i can do is rcon commands which sucks.
or just fix the samn thing so that the keys get recognised. i might try it with a different keyboard but i only have a shitty old one which has seen the likes of commander keen, Doom and warcraft: orcs and humans in it's time.

paul, you cant change the menu controls in the keybindings menu.
i havnt actually tried reverting to default, i did it all manually but ill try letting CS do it on its own.

What keyboard do you have? Does it have a special driver e.g. with custom profiles?

See as usual Paul no nuffin.
MS hardware is good... its their software f00.
Sounds like your KB might be a bit dirty... id suggest a breathing mask and googles... then turn it upside down and shake vigerously.

You can't bind the same function to more than one key in cs:s.
