That skin mod should either be standard implementation or not possible to use!

If you use that Crosshair you have no fucking taste or sense. It is pure fucking shite.

Edit: V4 seems about the best tbh. No stupid "Clown" colours to distract the eye.

I like the "clown suits", especialy when in a TD or german medium. My damage and critical hits have gone up quite a bit after I started using it. Maybe I was just retared before, and not aiming right, but I am now.:o

I use the Target Area's mod, but the V5 of the Crosshair is far too much Krusty for me!

I dont think SteelDevil will update his skinmods any more, at least with long delays.

Nooben will release a 0.6.6. (http://forum.worldoftanks.eu/index.php?/topic/37693-hitzones-skins-for-version-065-update-for-066-is-coming-soon/) soon, although instructions are only in russian.

when i stopped having a premium accout i had 7 tanks and 400k in cash.
now i make -15k grand when i loose and +2k when i win.

i now reached a point, where i have 1 tank i can't even afford to repair.

I see two solutions right now, i could either say fuck it and leave, or i need to buy a löwe or kv5 as a cashcow.

but to be honest if i buy all that shit that i need to win in this game i would probably spend 3 times the money that a good game costs in a store.

but those bastards got me hooked collecting all the tanks.

sorry i thought this was the main wot topic.

Just a random point, but if those skin mods aren't considered a cheat they ought to be. I mean I don't actually play this game, so I don't mind if you guys want to cheat at it, but I hope when Planetside 2 rolls out we'll be playing it 'pure', so to speak.

This comment is utter trash. As you said you dont play the game. The game is nothing like planetside. Move along. Troll elsewhere.

P.S. I dont use the mod myself either but do i give a shit some people use it? Not at all if it makes them happy then fill your boots.

Idealy, there should be a targeting guide on the forum where everyone could learn the different target zones and no skin mods allowed.

Doesn't matter if I don't play it really though does it. You don't have to play a game to point out that this sort of snide not-really-a-cheat-but-helps-me-win bullshit is bad form. It's a matter of principle.

If your so worried about other peoples principles then go sort out Colonel Gaddafi. If people wanna use it, who are you to moan that they are "cheats"? If you had some kind of interest in the game and what RL does there then go play and preach till your hearts content. Till then dont cast aspersions.

For me personaly, that only counts in games where everyone are on equal footing from the get go. In WoT you can pay to get better amunition and equipment that gives you various boosts. IMO there is no honour in not using a "not-really-a-cheat-but-helps-me-win" skin mod, when everyone can pay to out-DPS those who dont. I cant take that kind of game serious, and only play it cus there is nothing better.

I seriously hope SOE can resist the temptation of implementing power items in their shop for PS2, otherwise that principle is pretty pointless.

Nah that's bullshit. When we roll into Planetside 2 people are going to ask if we cheat, because we're going to be fucking them up all different ways from Sunday. And what will we tell them? "Well, we cheated a bit in World of Tanks, but we don't cheat in Planetside."

To be fair the only adequate justification is the one Lyngs has made in the post above, and he's right. In a pay to win game it's not a serious game. So yeah, for WoT, whatever. Sounds like everybody is at it anyway.

You seriously think we're that infamous that ppl will remember the guys who are currently playing WoT and wearing the 284TH tag above their heads (no, we don't have an RL tag) will be linked to using skin mods and therefor be considered cheaters at the moment we pop up in PS2?

Imo a bit far fetched mate.

Skinmods basically are just a novelty to make your game look uglier. Anyone with half a brain will know where to shoot to make it hurt anyway at below 100m and at 100+ the guns are too inaccurate anyway. Therefore, only a complete dunce will benefit from those mods and those make all kinds of other mistakes that make em easy to kill.

I'd assume real tank commanders had booklets or were at least briefed on enemy tank vulnerabilities. Since WoT doesn't offer such information, skins are the only way to find out some of the weak spots.

Wargaming.net doesn't consider the mods and skins presented here as cheats (in fact there's a dedicated "Tank Skins" section on the official boards) so why would anyone else? I personally drive vanilla because i prefer the original textures and UI without any ugly HUD flair or clowncamo.

And i do get reasonable results without mods: my personal best is 7 kills in a Tiger (awarded Top Gun, Steel Wall, Wittmann's Medal) matched a notch above middle tierwise in the battle.

Where to target is a matter of studying the tank stats and models, weak spots and crittable sections obey logic and are exactly where you would expect them to be when you look at any specific tank (if you aim at turret ring, you have a chance of locking it; if you aim at the gun or its mantle, you have a chance of disabling it and so forth).

As for the "pay-to-win": that's more or less bollocks. Yes, the premium ammunitions and consumables give you an edge but they're not win-buttons, just somewhat better than what you can get for ingame currency and they definitely won't compensate for your lack of skill or clue. I mostly spend the real-money currency for premium account and converting free xp as i it helps me advance faster in the tech trees than playing with the modest time i have for games nowadays.

Besides the game's completely free thus the premium account, stuff and xp conversion is the only source of income for the developer. I very much enjoy the game so i really don't have any hesitation of spending real money on it. Wargaming.net have made a brilliant game that fits well to my gametime allocation, would be rather bratty of me not to pay my share of it.

I bought the medium preorder package just because the game was worth supporting. Have spent ½ of the gold by now, only on premium account and extra garage slots (got 20 now). Using premium ammo is indeed mostly a money sink for the general user. But when you are up against someone using premium ammo and who knows what they are doing it does tip the scale in their favour.

Think it's a fair assessment to say the premium ammo is probably meant for use in clan wars.
In random battles you're effectively trading gold for credits/xp by (hopefully) improving your performance.

but don't torture to much, then he will just think, and tell what you want to hear.
it's an art that needs to be mastered.
