Paul... That "Crappy Dance Music" was William Orbits impressive take on the Platoon soundtrack classic, 'Barbers Adagio For Strings'.

It is quite simply one of the best classical inspired tracks every written and performed. Go play Homeworld 1 and you will see what i mean.

hmm, if possible make more small theme based vids with 1-2 squads sticking together, like "How to secure a tower", "How to secure a base", "How to hold a base from outside (Niko...)" etc.
Might be even more effective than to make a big advertisement video anyway ;)

I think your beat mixing between the retro-indie song and adagio for strings needs a little more work though :p

For the future: check out the pre-verse riff from Sonne (Sun) by Rammstein, it would work very well on a loop as intro music :)

i like it a lot.

the only thing that I want to see in the FULL rl vid is actual planning. Nearly all of these vids that I see are just raw footage from the heart of battle. No coordination, just stock footage. In my video that im planning, its all organised so that it looks more professional. There are no more 3rd person shots or shoddy camera angles, its all going to be planned out.

I am gathering more Video everytime I play so come on guys perhaps tonight we can hold a base from the outside to show how that is possible.

Also the reason why the dance music sounded so bad was cause Movie Maker is shit and it does not mix the music properly.


Originally the Classical music was starting when the VS turned up in force, also it screwed up loads of key music beats to video.

I will use the trusted Adobe Premiere for the real thing.

I think what I will do is make short clips showing tower drops, base resecure and so on, as mini clips. Then I will put them altogether to make a bigger clip.

So stay tuned and log on to PS so you can be a star.

I thinking we could do a Suicide attack on a BFR for a laugh imagine 20 mossie reavers all crashign into a biffer at once that would be funny.

I think we should make a longer story based vid. A simple treatment follows:

We see a NC rexo walking along the tech plan wall. Suddenly he gets sniped. In the same shot, a squad of TR hot drop onto his position and start moving towards CC. They put the hack on, and give the 'all clear'. Long shot of base, and 3-4 TR gals land in CY.
Back at NC sanctuary we follow a trooper who runs up to a CR5 and tells him that we've just lost contact with _____ (mulac is tech right?). General says to send in forces. Soldier explains that most of the forces are fighting on _____ so they wont be able to make it. General says to send in 'The Legion'.
Back on ______ we see a NC sniper run up a hill next to the facility. He pulls out a bolt driver and gives a sit rep. He informs that there are more reinforcements etc etc.
We cut to a revealing shot of a CR5 standing infront of 2 rows of a platoon. Gals surround them. He says 'Alright, that's a go. We have go.' All of the men load up in the gals and reavers.
Cut back to ______ and we see the gals flying low, then stop. Out of the back of one of the gals, a wraith drops with a cloaker on it. He drives into the trees. We follow him as he approaches the backdoor of the facility where there are mines and spitfires. He sneaks near them then says 'in place'.
We then cut back to the gals which are on the move again at ceiling height. A mossie flys passed them. It then flys over the roof of the facility and a cloaker drops out. He stands on the roof part of the tech plant. Cut back to the gals and we have a close up of the pilot of one of them saying 'Inbound, cloakers, do your stuff'.
Cut back to the cloakers. Then cut to a long shot and we see 2 big EMP blasts, one at back door and one on roof. Suddenly, 3 gals fly over and 2 drop roof, one drop back door.
We follow them down and into the CC + through the base, clearing it out. We then see a CR5 walk out on the roof and look around. He radios: 'good job boys, lets set up defence and head home'. Suddenly there is a gunshot and a TR cloaker, who was standing behind him drops dead.
Cut back to the sniper. 'Just watching your back sir.'

something like that.. obviously this is a simple version - but you get my drift

It just does not work trying to do it on that scale.

The only place you can make it is on the test server so you get br20 avatars.

i think that it's doable. Sanc shots can be done easily. Exterior shots we can do on test server or when the cont in quesion is empty. Interiror shots can be done in ANY empty tech plant.

As for acting: it's not that much dialogue, and we can record it over TS.

Itll be fine and fun.

Don't know if that is such a good idea? a quiet chat to someone when they are laying dead and can't be reached is effective, alienating and embarassing people is not an effective way to make them feel part of a group?

I did make the VID in Adobe Premiere but when it came to render, it was just music no picture :mad:

I dont know why it did this and I wasted 4 hours :mad: :mad:

I will try to figure out why the video codec wont encode as I can see the Video in ADOBE its just when it comes to preview or make the actual thing.

I doubt I will be making it tonight if the BR23 patch is up.

Sorry about the delay on the MPEG as I am having trouble with ADOBE it is really anouying to convert wma to MPEG takes loads of time.

Search the web for avi to mpeg and convert the file you have already.

I cant export MPEG using Movie maker
