If you're not looking for the packaging on your MMOs, the digital download versions of a bunch of MMOs are 20% off this weekend on direct2drive if you use the promo code "joker" at checkout!
Just picked up a Rift CE for Bridgette for less than what a standard edition retails for!
(Rift has guaranteed Beta for all pre-orders . . . if you don't have a code, you can send in a copy of your receipt and get access. Details on the riftgame.com forums!)

The only thing that puts me off buying download versions of MMO's is normally, even with huge content updates (unless they're drastically huge), if I have to reinstall, it's quicker having a shed load of discs with the data on.

I agree to some extent. In this case we're getting one physical CE and one digital one so that's not a huge deal.
Also: can throw your discs at the ninjas when they break in . . . big selling point.
(PS I can only guarantee US region validity of any offer. I'm locked to region specific sites. I figure you all know this though.)

This is a link for use in accessing the sale: http://www.direct2drive.com/buy-mmo-pc-games-download
Then use the promo code in the cart.
Apparently.

Depends on the mmo though.
I just recently installed Planetside and the clean client download took less time than a disc install and patch would. PS now is like 1,5gigs which seems "restructured" or something.
( Cant get the mod sounds to work though :( )
I would guess you would have similar "problems" with the original Wow discs.

need to set region to US for the code to work, not that it seemed to stopped me from adding to cart - didnt bother buying it yet though too early for me to decide and have a vip key on account anyway :D

Yeah for me it's just been too much of a good thing, and Bridgette wants to play, so we're going to. Normally I'd wait but it's in so much better shape than pretty much every other MMO beta, it's worth the money.

You can download and start playing MMOs like WoW, LOTRO and EQ2 almost immediately now, with content streaming as you play.

Yeah a number of companies have gone with streaming clients.
I personally prefer the full client method (I just go do something else for a while) but I think it's great when companies offer both options.

me too, to both points.
It's very annoying when you have to download the same thing to more than one computer. Such as is the case with all of WoW's patches now.

Yeah, that's not always super amusing indeed.
Would be cool if a company came out with a downloader that could manage installs on multiple systems within a workgroup . . .
