Looks interesting, Borderlands MMO is the first description that comes to mind from the gameplay vid.

Red5 is a studio that formed from splintered off Blizzard employees a number of years ago. Kind of a shock that they didn't announce anything until just this year, actually. Makes you wonder how smoothly everything got started for them, because if they've been pushing hard from the beginning this title may very well be 4 years old, which as we all know is a good thing for an MMO.
Worth keeping an eye on in any case. Cheers for the link.

Ok, read through their replies to posts, and I have one thing to say:
"Fuck you if you think you're not an MMO."
:)
Do characters persist? Yes. Are there lots of them in an open world? Yes.
MMO.
Deal with it.
*sigh*
You know what I think? I think that people are so afraid of being an MMO because they think there's some kind of fucking stigma because of how bad some of the games have been. When the actual definition is pretty simple, and yeah, Firefall comes under that definition pretty fucking clearly.
It's like saying Planetside isn't an MMO . . . derp derp.

Even MMOs aren't MMOs anyway these days.

That's a load of nonsensical bullshit.
A game either supports a large number of players and supports persistent gameplay, or it doesn't. It's not fucking rocket science. Tick the boxes. You're an MMO.

The question is though, where are all these players? Can they all meet up in one place? I think once you get into the realms of games that are masses of rather small limited instances then they aren't really even MMOs. Something like Guild Wars or Global Agenda for example. Quite a lot of MMOs seem to come and go without really ever attempting to be 'Massive'.

Earthrise was porn, especially female silhouette. Someone on the devteam really likes big butts in the club, and he could not lie :)

I played it for an hour today. Its not bad actually, a bit as i expected though, wow with guns.
It runs pretty good, i am a bit confused what to do at times since there are no clear instructions but it looks like it has promise.
A cross between borderlands and wow.
