I'm pondering having a look at Age of Conan again, not with an eye to just grinding through to some kind of mythical end game, but in the hope, I dunno, of maybe actually enjoying it. Just wondering if anybody had played it lately and if patches and an expansion had meant it was worth checking out?

I have heard various rumors that it's been improved a great deal since the release.

How true that is is anyone's guess.

I hardly think they could have gotten all that much worse though. Much of the issue was missing content and time can only improve that, you would think.

I was thinking on similar lines, which is why I was investigating. I'm hearing good things about the expansion, but then I wrote good things about the game when it came out, so I know how easy it can be to get deceived by the usually excellent presentation. Also every reviewer in the world was wrong about APB so I dunno.

I've re-subbed a few days back and enjoying it. Seems like they fixed most of the issues, the content is there. Shame it wasn't released in that shape ...

Apparently there's a massive DX10 (yeah - after 2 years) patch coming soon. It's already on the test server and looks gorgeous.

I've switched to pve server, cause I really didn't enjoy the gankfest on pvp. I like pvp but FFA is a bit too random for my liking.

Playerbase is there, hard to judge on numbers, but it's certainly not deserted. Community seems very friendly.

Not sure, log in with you old account. I had some cool offer that bagged me the expansion pack (worth getting) and a month of playtime for peanuts.

I also got a free lvl50 toon - saves time going though the beginning.

I've tried re-subbing every single MMO I've played in the past and it's the only one I've actually stayed with for more than a few hours.
