Are Crytek even capable of making a game that will run flawlessly on anything but the top 10% of Gaming rigs?
I somehow dont think that any MMO dev is quaking in their boots...

Considering I will most likely have the hardware to run it, I'm rather looking forward to this development.

Not even Bill Gates is sure he'll have the hardware required.
But even considering their past, a decent MMOFPS coming from the most unlikly of places could be decent one. If not then I doubt many will be suprised if they don't do too well considering the number of failed MMO games of late.

Lately anything with more then 50 people online is called a MMO. Simply because they can't ninja Warcraft players away long enough.
There's a PS3 game that allows 100'ish concurrent online and thats considered a MMO.

Well considering what used to pass as an MMO compaired to the newer and bigger ones. It's not a far fetched idea that a game of that scale could be an MMO. The problem is defining what an MMO is exactly, as not many of the actual MMO games fit one specific banner.
Planetside for some was an MMOFPS, I think everyone here can testify to that. But it only had 3 servers and not any PvE content. To a lot of the current MMO crowed thats not an MMO. It's hard to see whats going to happen or will be a good game considering the current people and new users to the MMO world. A lot who look down on games because it isn't like WoW or other MMO they started with. A lot of people can't see what I enjoyed in Planetside, but want the very things it contained.
An MMO for me is about playing with people in a world, with larg numbers and persistant events. Be they PvE or PvP, they must continue on some way. Planetside was always an enjoyable game. As it did feel like a never ending war.
If Crytek manages a good MMOFPS I'm all for it, but they'll have to do more than make a large island and let us get lost in it trying to figure out the point of it all.

remember, CryEngine 3 is made for 360 and PS3 too, so it could be a console title they're working on.
That being said, CE3 is a beautiful engine and can make some very big worlds :)
