The Bread's new system is being born...

Savrow SR71 case
AMD 3500 64 CPU
A8N-SLI Deluxe mobo
Geforce 7800GTX
Geforce 7800GTX

Yes I meant to say it twice.

Total Cost ~£820

Bread's going to be the first loaf on the block to double up the G70s. Who wants to touch me? :p

Naturally the system won't be going live til the day the new cards hit the shelves, but it's not -that- far off. :D

Offtopic:
I got myself a 2x6600GT SLI today, should have arrived yesterday but the mobo they put in it wasnt the SLI version but the 2xPCI-E version :( So today my new mobo with SLI arrived, now i have to tweak a lot of shiat because i cant get above 7000 3DMarks ('05) while a properly set up system should have 7500 3DMarks.. any tips anyone? :D

that's gonna be a fast PC.

Where are you buying your parts from as that seems really cheap for the 7800gtx

the 3500 is around £180
the your mobo I found for around £110

So that is 290

820-290 = £530. I'd guess the case would be around 30. So the 7800gtx is only £250 ??? That sounds a bit low to me, I may be wrong though. I would have thought at least £325.

If they are only £250 I might look where you are buying for my r520 :D

I've already got the CPU and I'm blagging the mobo from work. The GTX card is probably going to be about 400, though the RRP is 370. Can't tell you when they are out though cos of the NDA. It'd be definitely too weak if I did that. Too weak indeed. ;)

ah, that makes alot more sense. The launch is the 22nd from sites I've read, which could be interesting. I've read also that ATi are coming out with theirs by the end of July. I'm gonna wait till prices drop and they become widely available. Then i'll have a look to get which one is the best value for money.
They should have come down a bit by X-mas because £400 is insane lol.

Another rumour is that Nvidia is coming out with a 32pixel pipeline version of the g70 to fight the r520 cos the 7800gtx only has 24pixel pipelines. SO maybe that'll be out by X-mas. I've got a 9800pro atm which is perfect for now. Battlefield 2 runs great 1024x768 with all the settings on high. I'm just waiting for the game that will kill it. Far Cry did in for my geforce 3 ti200 after 2 1/2 years of loyal service. I had to run that on medium/low until I got the radeon. And I've been pretty happy with it, especially Half Life 2 performance :D I'd bet F.E.A.R would give it a run for it's money.

Oh well, still 6 months for it before it can retire into the box from whence he came.

Anyway, I'll be first in line to see how your system peforms when the time comes :P My dibs are on 16k 3dmarks05
