That would be the old BSG. The new one only has potential as an MMO Chat Room where everyone has to play "Spot the Bot"...

...actually, now i think about it, is that not just IRC?

You could associate space fighter combat and shooting people with the BSG universe sure, but there seems to be no reason to do so besides trying to cash in. The story of BSG is already complete so any game spun off it would be worthless from a narrative point of view. There's nothing to add to it.

Besides in the unlikely event anybody actually made games of the type you're describing they'd have a better shout at making them good and balanced if they could create their own universe.

End of the day if I really, really tried I could be less enthusiastic about this, but not very, and I say that as a massive BSG fan.

Not on PC yet, but already done (http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/37111/battlestar-galactica). For the record, quite good in a decent group :)
