I would like to make sure we get organised for the game release.

I find that we need someone to rally us and actually be the commmander.

I dont want to carry on playing this game if there is no real structure.

I would like to see Practice sessions.

We need to spearate our forces.

Special Forces in Black hawk

Troops and medics in Humvees.

Ideally I would like us to converge on the target and move enywhere together.

We need people to speak up if they think they can Fly.

Snipers need to be Solo people who give us info and take the kills as they come.

We also need to adapt this style to be on the other side aswell.

If anyone is up for this then now is the time to do it as we have a Demo of the game and the map will get boring.

To start with I suggest Team Work in pairs I played with Pontusneo last night and we played as a pair always following each other, this worked very well.

If your up for it guys then show some interest here.

I will be away for the release of the game but I will install the game on the big server when I get back.

Now is the time for us to be organised and perhaps enter some comps when we think we are ready.

I know GA was talking about it last night.

First thing we need to do is decide our tag.

tag: [RL]

secondly, :), yes, we need to start working together. We need to, whether people like it or not, have everyone choose 1-3 classes which they like, starting with 1 as their favorite. Those that want to fly/drive aswell, need to start practicing with those vehicles.

We also need to set up some officers and a captain so we have some leadership here. I'm up for captain again, but if someone else wants to have it, we can have an election.

Communication is key in this game. We need everyone to utilise the 'q' and spotted keys to show enemie positions on the mini map for others to see. We also need to stick together and get a good function of teamspeak working. We should also see how the ingame VoIP works.

i'll post more later.

Cool GA

If someone takes control and puts the rabble into order then perhaps PS might lose its flavour.

Come on guys lets make a real effort on this one.

We all want to play as a team so lets start.

Please read about the server I have stated times it will be back up.

Sorry cant do anything about that.

I need to find out port numbers to list it on the browse so we can let some noobs in :D

Hey Guys,

Just like to say had a great time last night fighting against you guys.

I would have to agree with you that team-work and communication over TS are essential.

The commander fuction must be filled otherwise you are off to bad start. As we have all seen the use of artillery can be devisating if placed well.

Really glad we are being able to practise against another organised bunch of players as it makes it much more enjoyable.

Hopefully we will be able to join up together against some other clans in the future.

Regards
Grendel

What we really need is to sort out the Organisational end tbh. We have no dedicated leader(s).

I personally think we will need 3 or 4 officers similar to CSS.

We should start a new thread asking for nominations. Then all those nominated should have their names put into a poll and be voted for.

So put me down for that Hat.

Only thing is not sure if you guys what loud mouth here to be barking orders

Only thing is I am away for the release so it might be bad timming.

Ill be back on the 4th

Tbh m8 i prefer like we had in CSS 4 guys who all led equally.

That way we have 2 Leaders for each side in praccys. 1 Commander and 1 Troop leader.

We have some great tactical heads here so i dont think Tacticians will be hard to find. What we do need is to get some hierachy sorted and get people barking orders...

Knaggsy it is no way different to BFV bar the weapons and aircraft...

Its about 80% Desert Combat too.
It just looks slightly different but in reality its very similar. Its more realistic like DC but it plays like BFV.

BFV was good as a stop gap... but like DICE said, it was meant to be nothing more than that.

As in [RL]Oselly because thats how ive done mine didnt seem to like having a space in it.

i Like at the moment Sniper, Medic, Spec Ops preety much all equally so ill kinda fit in with the need for classes really, going off the sniper mainly becasue its bloody hard to do it well with the low classes on the demo but when i build it up it should be better.
for the transport the liittle jeep things bloody fun as hell to drive in and ive got a knack for it i hope :D

once my examns are over im quite sure i can lead or assist on squad/team leading.
i have tried out the commander mode and its quite potent.
lets play some more and then start a thread where we put in all the good ideas and tactics (without any spam).

i've just d/l the demo so will be on asap, gonna be sniper.

no i've not played it yet but to me sounds like 2 man mini teams is gonna rule here, i was looking at what ppl get for each class, and sniper and eng seem to match up very well, sniper has claymores and eng has AV mines, so get those 2 together in a strategic spot (ie a main bridge) and they could set a mean trap :)

as soon as i get it working will try and learn it (nvr played any battlefield games) :(

Snipeing is really shit.

there needs to be about 3 of you to take out one guy quickly (as america) its hard to hit what you want, very innaccurate. The SVD is crap too. The only good rifle is the upgrade one, kills in 1 shot and can kill the pilots of choppers or planes (if you're fast enough ;))

getting structure in the RL BF2 is the first stop we have to make. A good 3-4 people, all officers is probably best. No dictatorship, just a bunch of us to make decisions etc.

I dont think that the officers should always be commanders though. If someone is particualry good at tactics and/or wants to have a go at it, by all means, they should be able to. We should get a list of people that are good/up for being commander aswell as what weapons etc they like.

Aight killers,
The best orgainzation is interactive, integrated and dynamic.
What does that mean?

A system where we have lead elements, like commanders (and no, that does not translate to being stuck as 'commander' in the game), tactical advisors who give advice (that's everyone), and then the masses (also everyone).

This means we need:
Nominations on commanders.
A Tactics forum WITHOUT spam
A General Forum. With Spam if necessary.

For the command system, I think a rotating hierarchy is best. 4 guys as General Officers, of which one is elected as the first EVER commander. The rest are given numbers (1,2,3,4) and rotate. When not acting as commander, they serve as advisors and general staff to keep things organized if the commander isn't online. If two are online at once, the one closest to being commander is in charge.

Elections every once in a while (what time period do you think?) for all the slots to keep it fresh.

The most important thing right now is NOT NOT NOT to have a bunch of guys invited off the bat. We need to develop a CORE, a COMMUNITY. We can tell people to stick around with us with the promise of an invitation down the line, but no immediate invites. This game is, at heart, an infantry game. In an infantry squad, everyone has to care about everyone else in some way. That sound stupid, as this is a game, but believe me... it'll be fookin annoying to have the guy who was SUPPOSED to be covering your back off blowing up something or having sex with a hooke---
Oh, wait. This isn't BF:V :)

Once we get this kind of CORE going, we can start figuring out the specialist squads like a rapid assault SF team to hit the bridges, base defense teams, Close Air Support, tanker teams, whatever. First comes the CORE.

JMO, argue all you want.
