Looks like a good setup :)

I don't think you'll get a copy of windows with it unless you ask for it, assuming that the system is being built for you?

they guys is coming round to build it, he asked if it was needed, but i guess that Shuttle dont supply it.. oh well.. maybe i have a copy at home :p

also just realised, i'm not gonna get such a big HDD as the Caviar (320GB) since I keep all my pr0n on an external for safe keeping :p - only gonna get a 120GB at most. Is the caviar still the best? What about segate's barracuda?

Why not have duel memory drives? Why bother with an external?

I hope you have some seriously good cooling in that case as Raptor HDs get very, very hot.

like how hot dengar?

I've been told on a SFF forum that the fans on the Shuttle I'm getting are sufficient, seems as if quite a lot of them have 1 or 2 of the in their systems...

I'll ask again on that forum to be certain :)

I use raptors in this comp, no special cooling, they don't get very hot here, I have positioned them so that air passes over them so they aren't in a dead air zone, seems to work fine.

Also if you are thinking of using an external drive to store most of your stuff, you could speed the comp up by using 2 x raptors in a raid 0 config.

Cool, thanks echor - the shuttle i have has 2 fans dedicated to keeping the HDDs cool, so i dont think that there is a problem about them sitting in a dead zone.

My comment about the external drive was a joke... hence the reference to pr0n... whoow, 'when jokes go wrong'... Only have space for 2 HDDs so i think that having a 120gb + a raptor is better then 2 raptors.

EDIT: just had another thought... would it be worth not getting the FX-55 and instead saving money by getting a 4000+ or whatever. Then when the X2 comes out, I can buy that...?
