fraps or other video recording

hi dudes,
i want to record some planetside soon.
can i use a labtop to record it while i play on my main pc and how does that work ?

where do i get the fraps full version from cause the demo sucks ?

what programm do you use to rework the movies ?

I heard Adobe Premiere is a good program, but u can just go with windows moviemaker i guess :D

to use fraps u need a geforce card.... in m experence ATI cards slow down alot more (ie 4.5 FPS) when recording with fraps while m geforce which is much lower down in the range than my ATI stays at about 20FPS while recording...

this is only for last option recording thou...

there are many alternatives..


Justins method:

Get a video IN card and attach it to a second PC.. hen using your video out on yoru PC sent it to our other PC and record with little or 0 frame loss.


My method (until i switch to justins):

Using your video out send it to your VCR and TV.. use your TV as secondary monitor and record the action onto your VCR with no frame loss..

(however with new DVD recorders i do expect htis method to have even higher quaility.. if used instead of the VCR..)

then what you do is hoock up yourVCR to your video in slot and play it back recording it onto your PC (this can be used to record yoru fave tv shows onto your PC also)


they are he main three methods some better than others... but if u r going to use fraps make sure u have a good spec PC coz your frame rate will suffer then recording...

quiality with fraps is better but frame rate is lost..

i think best best is justins... when i finally get around to being assed to sort out my setup..
