Its because of the raid of today. I beginning too see where Ramiraz is comming from with the raid and dkp points.

Its been a real funny day, so maybe that why si got so frustrated. I was a late night yesterday and i had loads of fun playing. i knew i couldn't make a lot of raids this week because most are at times i will never be able too attend. Luckely they let me join the raid yesterday although it already started because of stupid blizzard problems.

So today i finally took an hour or too sleep and got everthing ready to go on the raid tonight. I was preparing dinner early, fought with my partner about being not with dinner too play, so i could attend the raid. Of course my son wanted his food by the time i was going online, and of course he needed a diaper chance. So i had too hurry as it was almost time. Well i was finished 5 minutes late. By then my daughter managed too get her lemonade all over the floor and my partner so they both needed new clothes. By then it was already 6.10 and i had too log on quick. Raid was full and no changes too be made. O god that pissed me off.

i envy all that have the time too play whenever they want. But at this time im just angry. I love the game and the guild , but now i wanted too quit and join another guild. I felt left out and not understood. Don't worry im just angry and ill stay, but i really hate feeling like this. I don't feel like going on any raids and i feel like going back too a soloing warlock.

As said before im just verry angry, and feeling misunderstood. Although it doesn't look like it im not getting frustrated easily. Maybe im just not made for this whole guild thingy. I don't know. Think ill do the normal thing as i can not blame anyone for it and hide in a little corner of the world.

The following are general points on raid lateness, and not addressed at particular guildmates;

As the Raid was advertised and planned for 6pm, and, at 6pm we found ourselves with 31 people (and Nikodemus was happy to sit out due to bad FPS), we split the groups to get going almost on time.

In the period between 6.05-6.25 pm, I received a number of requests to join, all of which were turned down. We will not penalise the people who turned up on time by asking them to sit around for potentially another hour while we mess the raid groups around to get 3 working raids

If you are late for the start of a raid, and there is room for you, then at the offcier's discretion, we'll allow you to join late. The officers are far from obliged to put the other 30 members of a DKP session out for the sake of a handful of latecomers

In the future, we'll advertise raids as starting 30 minutes early, to gather people up, to start at the alloted time. if you're not there at that 30 minute mark, we can only TRY to fit you in.

I understand it's frustrating to miss these raids, especially when your lateness was not under your control, but it's not under the guilds control either, and people who ARE on time may have constraints too, and it's not fair to make them miss out, because of you lateness

In the end we'll make every concession to get these raids working, but we can't magic 10 more raid members to help the 5 latecomers.

Patricia: While I know oyu planned to get here on time, life conspired to make you late. I can't fit a 16th person into a 15-man raid, and I'm not kicking out one of those that was on time. If any of the latecomers could have pulled, tanked and led the raid, I'd have dropped out myself, but the raid would have had a high risk of falling apart, and I'm not risking 14 people's raid for one person, no matter how hard they tried to be on time

But it doesn't mean we didn't want you on the raids. You're a great player, and an asset to any team. At the end of the day, this is only 1 raid out of 5 this week, 5 next week, etc. etc.

We're looking into placing a poll about starting times in the forum over the weekend, to see what people think, but no matter what time we start, some people will be disappointed, so we have to cater to as many people as possible, both in choice of times, and vairety thereof.

If you have any constructive suggestions on the times, we'd love to hear them. To get the ball rolling, one of my early ideas for this was to have 3 raids per night, starting at 3 times (6pm, 8 pm, 10pm, next night 5pm, 7pm, 9pm etc.) And planning 1 raid per time, with the raids themselves overlapping. The danger of this, of course, is if we don't get sufficent people to make a viable group (and if we get too many, who misses out?)

I dont have a daughter/son or wife (anymore) and I envy you for having all that :) Thats why I also complained like Ramiraz, not to defend myself, but people who have situations like you just mentioned. Anyway, now that the DKP counts has begun it has it's pro's and con's, and so far im not dissapointed by it, but by reading your story makes me feel bad that I havent turned in my place to give you a chance to go :(

I think it is important for people to understand that this is going to happen with or without DKP. Ok, without DKP you might not be dissapointed because there is always another 15 man UBRS raid.. but then what about MC? the 40 people going there, and the people who are left out. How are they going to feel? Really bad I am sure. The same will happen with onyxia, blackwing lair and so on. I know it sucks, it has happened to me several times, even though it wasn't with the guild, but with other guilds that promised me a spot. Either way, it is just something everyone will have to cope with, even though it is seriously shit.

I really feel for you pat, and I understand your frustration, but you are going to have to cope with it. There will always be some unlucky people left out, thats the way of things when the group rules are as strtict as here.

Patricia, you shouldn't worry about this, really. I personally can't attend some raids too, not for the reasons you wrote about, but for example the simple time reasons. Some raids start too late for me, because my timezone is 2 hours ahead of UK time, so when raid goes off 21:00 UK time - it's a no go to me. Because I can't stand for the full duration, I wont join the raid only to leave them later in a bad position because I have to bail out. Today's raid started again tad too early for me, it was just a coincidence that I managed to get to home in time to make it. But I know that another day, another raid which starts at the same time, will be without me because I'm either still in office working, or driving home.

But it's OK, because I can make some other raids still so it's fine. There wont be really such a big disparity between the points either, because people are spending them as they earn them. So don't worry, as long as you attend even some raids fully, you will be in quite OK standing with points. Don't have to attend every raid, attend what you can. And, of course, you should know that people are always happy to have you with them.
