A simple suggestion really, trying to get people to show up in time so those that arrive on time don't have to wait for ages for the stragglers:
If you are at the meeting point / instance entrance at the time the raid is supposed to start, you get +1 DKP for the raid.

Agree on that
I was totally dissapointed when we left at around 22.00 instead of 21.00 and then a warrior had to leave our group while we weren't even like 40 minutes inside.. it totally destroyed my evening and will to continue that night. I hate to play after midnight, once in a while 1am is ok, 2am on a very rare occasion if my folks are sleeping tight. So can we please start raiding on the scheduled time!

I agree Dostov, cut off invites at the set time.
This suggestion gives points to those that have their characters present at the entrance on time. So even though people are online and invited, they should also be in the right place on time.

Yes, there should be some rule, any of the above, so that it's clear: the raid START time means that the raids START at that time, not that the people start to move to raid location at that time.

Agree with shini's point of a +1 bonus.
Dont hink cutoffs should be put in place as sometime RL comittments mean you cant help but be late, and if theres a slot free then great.
so a bonus rather than a punishment or carrot rather than stick approach i think would be better.

Awarding people instead of punishing them is definitely better, IMO.

I'm a fan of the idea too, I think we're going to advertise a meeting time 30 mins before the start time from now on, and also a suggested raid length. If you can't stay till the end of the suggested time, or show up I'd suggest a 1DKP penalty. We've not discussed this yet, these are just my thoughts, it's very frustrating to others when people leave (I'd have hoped it was obvious that a full Strat raid wouldn't be finished under 2 hours), and on Tuesday even led to a whole raid collapsing, costing the other willing participants their DKPs, and also their drops.
Obviously, the penalties would be wavered for emergancy leaving, and (as happened Wednesday) 'Acts of Blizzard' when you just can't get into the game. Also, I feel afks should only be taken after a large fight, during the regen time, and ideally, everyone needing an afk should leave as one. Synchronise your toilet habits damnit! :D

I would rather have bonus DKPs for people who show up on time and stay the distance of the raid, rather than penalties for thos who can't go the full distance.
As for Tuesday, I think it was only me and Jane who missed out on the DKP in the end, but imho thats still 2 people too many...

Wasn't just you and Jane, also I missed and Mavi did, at least. But, what's over is over.

I thought the rest of you had got groups, but I forgot that some of you logged off. :(

Well, I didn't log off. Simply when was said that other raid groups have in total 5 spots and there was 7 of us, and other raid groups had already plenty of paladins, I knew that a rogue or hunter or warlock etc would be more preferred then yet another paladin, so I didn't even start to 'push' myself into other raid groups.

Don't think you sould get a penalty for leaving early, this because if the raid takes longer than planned (often does) and takes for instance 3 in stead of 2 hours you must be able to leave, some people have to go to work or school next morning so can't always stay late :)
The extra point for coming in time (that is within the 30 min before leaving to the spot or being there waiting for the rest to arrive) is a good idea imho.

This is something that will be disscused in the DKP officers meeting hopefully tonight after the raid.
I see lots of valid points and my guild has suggested some of them too.
Also a suggestion made is if there is no room left on the raid (as last night) and there arent enough people to form a UBRS but there are enough for a LBRS (people that ARE here on time) then we can also make a DKP LBRS.
Obviously i'm not saying this is how it will go, i think the DKP officers combined will have have to talk this over and reach a mutal decision :)

Easiest is to simply add a bonus point to those who are on time and participate for the FULL duration. Only after the raid those people will get that point. If someone comes later and is grouped into the raid - no point, because was late. If someone is on on time, but leaves before the raid end - no bonus, because wasn't there for the whole time. No additional penalties are needed, because the person who leaves the raid will miss the points from the rest of the bosses - and points - anyway.

the leaving early penalty only applies once we start advertising a probable duration. If we say a Strat raid will take 4 hours, and you only have 2 hours, you don't come. People dropping out weakens the entire raid and (as happened on Tuesday) may result in disbanding if there isn't the right team left.
Again, IMO, and again, this doesn't include emergancies. If your roof blows off, the last thing you need is a DKP penalty :p
But, if you're only interested in an early boss in the run, then decide to go to bed, IMO (again :p) 1) you should ask yourself if you're really built to play with other people, and to be in this guild, and 2) you should be penalised for that selfishness
