For the 5th day in a row (I think?) we've spent some hours discussing forth and back etc. today. I think we ended up with 4 hours of non-stop blabbering today.
Two things were different today from the last few days of discussion, though :P
1) We finally came to a lot of conclusions.
2) Grom was in on the chat, and he's back.
So, getting to what we were actually on about, and what's going on:
- new revision of DKP based on some of our concerns, and on feedback from this forum. Check the DKP front page: http://dkp.renegade-legion.org/viewnews.php?s=
- schedule for upcoming DKP runs. Check the thread here: http://forums.renegade-legion.org/showthread.php?t=1431
- codified guild rules going through last revision on the officers forum. Expect them to be up in a few days.

first let me say, that I have nothing against Grom as a person, but if an officer in any of the guilds I have been guild master or officer in, pulled a stunt like that, he wouldnt be an officer anymore...no matter how much of a friend he was.
with that said, I will treat him with the same respect I did before, because you (the officers) decided to let him stay as officer.
as I started with, Gromagrim, Its nothing personal. I think that from chatting with you, that you are a cool guy

About the DKP runs - can it be officially announced also in-game, in MOTD, that, say, monday is the start? So that all can start "fresh" with equal points? Because the previous "announcement" wasn't good, as it was made on forums in a 'random topic' and at a time, when most really don't look at the forums anymore (because most read the forums during the day time or early evening right after the work or school, but not really during the gaming time).

* Points are not capped, but have diminishing returns.
You earn full points for every raid up to 100 points.
From 101 to 150 points, you only earn half points for each raid (rounded down).
From 151 points and up, you only earn 1 point per raid.
Do note that we may raise or lower these values as we see the system getting going.
thats the only part of it that makes me wonder wether this will work for the people who are casual players .... hardcore players will still be able to horde points and outbid anyone on anything! yes hardcore players should be rewarded for theyre work, but its still not *fair* on the casual players as its them whos helping the hardcore players get theyre things ... theres just more of the casual players than theres hardcore players....
imo there needs to be a cap on the point system

I think that you have set the "softcaps" too high. I like the idea, but I think that a more fairer way would be the ones Inner Sanctum uses
- If you are below 50 points you will recive full points for all the bosses killed (that you have attended to).
- Once above 50 you will recive half the points from each boss, since some of the boss-points are uneaven numbers, like 3 the points will be devided by 2 (sum = 1,5 ) will be rounded up to 2 points and added to your total.
- If you should have 47 points and get 5 points for a boss, the points will be counted accordingly, you will recive 3 points to flat you out on 50 the remaining 2 points will be devided by 2 and the point will be added, so you will sum up on 51.
- Once above 100 points you will only recive 1 point for each attended raid ( no matter how many bosses we kill ). If the raid should be split up over 2 or more days you will recive 1 point for each day.

Scroll down a bit and look at Xark no points needed since X is MT for the raids. Are we doing the same?(I think it is good) since we will need a real good equiped tank to withstand the fury of the endgame bosses. The no points mean i think the Xark have the right to get items that are an tanking uppgrade before everyone else. Biggest problem is that i think all warriors want to be the MT and dont like the thought of loosing the best items to a single person. (as a pala i dont mind but i can understand ppl that do)There are skill differences between our warriors in tanking, there is no doubt about that(No names) same with all classes (know i am not the best paladin). If we do like this with MT loot all warriors that want to be MT sign up and we do a anonymus vote so nobody would get angry.

@Ram;
Cheers for the link, hadn't seen that.
It is quite possible we'll be moving the cap - haven't really seen it in action yet, so hard to say how fast people accumulate points.
I don't *think* IS gives points for anything outside of MC/Onyx, though - so overall the rate at which you gain points in their system might be slower, which also calls for a lower cap.

I dont think i'll be able to be a part of this system ever since i have this deal ("with arm twisted on back") with my girlfriend that i can only game when she's not there or sleeping. So basically i never know if i have 30 mins or several hours at my disposal, so it wouldnt be fair to join a raid (not that i actually have lvl 4 it yet) since i might have to leave in the middle of the raid. I know im not the only one with this little issue in my life, so i/we hope that this system will be a failure so that "ordinary mortal players" can again feel as a part of this wonderfull society called Renegade LEGION.
This is not meant as whining... just a statement
PS; With all this said, i will also use this opportunity to say "Thank You" to the guild in general for the help i've had so far, and i hope to be able to repay some favors when my tradeskills gets better...

Your girlfriend doesn't allow you 4 hours once in a while to do the things you enjoy?
And hoping for the system to fail because you can't attend is plain childish IMO. DKP or not, we wouldn't want a player in a raid that wasn't sure he was able to stay for the duration.

Ehrm, well - a raid takes as long as it takes, regardless of the looting system. Or actually, DKP raids might take a tad longer for starters while people get used to it, but it shouldn't take long before they're going full speed.
And regardless of looting system, we'll want to be raiding - many of us are at the point where we've finished nearly all the other stuff, have been preparing for quite a while, and want to get to the "big stuff".

I see where your comming from but I don't think so, try and remember, that there will still be raids that do not qualifie for DKS, and therefore will be an ordinary raid. Ie raids other than the ones that are planned, raids with one or more random players and more reasons I can't think of since I'm hungover :(
