Heavy Metal Event

This November, the realm war will be even more deadly as two new careers take their place on the battlefield. The Empire will deploy the nobility and tactical cunning of the Knights of the Blazing Sun to aid the armies of Order in their battle against the encroaching darkness. Meanwhile Malekith's personal bodyguard, the much feared Black Guard will stride to war to bolster the Dark Elf armies as they struggle for their ancient homeland.

To herald the arrival of these supreme warriors, we will be running a special event on all servers beginning on the 17th of November


When the Heavy Metal live event begins on November 18th, players who log into WAR will see a new tab in the Tome of Knowledge. Clicking on this tab will open the Live Events page, where each day we'll place a new daily task. Completing these daily tasks earns influence, just like you'd earn in a public quest. There are rewards for Basic, Advanced and Elite influence, culminating in the ultimate prize: the chance to play WAR's new classes a full week before they're released to the public! This last reward won't be easy to earn, and players who want to get to the Elite level will need to log in each day and complete on the daily event.

I'm going to be hiding under a rock. Order loses out badly here, as we get a clone of the Destros shittiest tank and they take home a clone of our best. I just hope I'm done with Tor Anroc before the dark elf IBs turn the tide. :(

On the positive side though knights are cool and the world needs more Order beef. Could be a good time to push through some more healers riding shotgun for the Knights too.

Okay. This makes me a bit concerned actually, for the first time since starting to play WAR.

Keywords seemed to be angry, dangerous, never dies, hard to kill vs. huh, what...telling other people how to fight, mustache and sun emblems?

Not only was the Order version compared to a parent (jeez) it actually looks anything but sexy. It looks like your history professor from school, dressed up for some Live roleplaying reenactment.

Great job there. This will certainly help with the population balance.

I actually will be trying out the knight of blazing sun, because is really wanted to play as chaos Chosen, but hey who can recist a dwarf trowing grenates...

the thing that interested me more from the latest newsletter were the concepts pics of all the order classes in epic armours,

ironbreaker - gets a huge fucking bear strapped to his back
bright wizard - just looked so awesome
rune priest - looks like hes his own personal banner attached to his head
swordmaster - even the poncy elf looked quite pimp

Ahaa I googled it and found the order armours. The elf and dwarf ones are pretty understated and very cool, the empire ones are a bit over the top, but I still like them. I'm glad they didn't go with the purple hockey playing twat look that WoW seems to cultivate.

You may have already noticed that we have opened up the last 7 events for the Heavy Metal Event so you can take part in them all, at your leisure, over the extended Thanksgiving Holiday. We want everyone to have a chance to unlock the Black Guard and Knight of the Blazing Sun. You can now finish the event and redeem the Heavy Metal Chest from a Herald. When you redeem the chest, it is important that you open (right click) the chest so that you become eligible to play the classes a week earlier than everyone else. If you qualify through the Heavy Metal event, the Black Guard and Knight of the Blazing Sun will become playable next week when we do the 1.0.6 patch.
