RL AoC census: staying or going?

Okay since the free months for most people started around launch are drawing to an end i'll set up this simple poll just to get an idea and numbers where the guild's core will be settling down to. This is mainly to give an idea what we can accomplish on our own and where we might need to start looking into external recruitment.

So:


If you'll definitely keep on playing vote "Staying" and do post with your main toon's name, class and current level (if you've not yet settled which class to play as main state your most probable options).
If you're definitely not continuing vote "Going" and post your toon's name and any possible alts in the guild - this is just to clean up the roster so we'll have a better idea on about active people.
If you're stopping for now but are planning on taking another peek later down the line vote "Going" and post your toons in the guild as well. You'll be certainly invited back when you get back - like stated we'll clean the guild of inactive toons to help us plan the charter.
If you're ever a little on the fence, even the slightest bit unsure about staying or going just yet please refrain from voting and posting, let us know when you know for sure.

I'm not at all satisfied with the way in which Funcom has chosen to "attempt" balancing things out. I am also not really too thrilled with the amount of grinding involved. As long as there are quests I am not too unhappy, but as soon as it gets into having to grind the speed at which my Guardian is able to kill things begins to really show . . . and not in a good way.

As a result I'm on the fence. I haven't canceled, but I find my motivation to log in is severely lacking because of the simple fact that in my opinion leveling up gets lamer and more boring the higher you get.

I want to have fun like I did until I was level 40 or 50. Of course since then I've had my spike damage nerfed to hell and the content has become very sparse. The number of RL members logged in when I am on has dropped from 20 or 30 to 5 or 6. This thread may be about who is staying, but of the people I see responding that they are staying I see precious few on at any given time.

Maybe now that there's no football on people will log in, but considering the last time I played was prime time on a night where there was no football and there were a maximum of seven people online including Polluxia and myself I can't say I find that a good sign.

I don't mean to be negative, but I am trying to figure out what I personally want to do.

With PvP being a joke for my class (until guardians gain the ability to stunlock unsuspecting foes they can't kill anyone, and even then if we fail it is game over) right now and PvE sucking wind, I am just really torn. Which of course sucks because I had really high hopes for this game . . . and those hopes are dwindling pretty fast. :(

I know what you mean about the Grinding Kham, feels a little like Tabula Rasa with the content getting sparser the higher you go. I have faith tho...

There is supposed to be that new zone off Conalls next month for the 55-65's which leaves me in the perfect spot to abuse it when i get back off my holiday :)

least your a ToS its pretty easy to find a AoE grind grp for u makes the exp fly
unlike me playing a ranger its a pain then the backside trying to get a grp :P

Im not too worried by the numbers game. Its an MMO, its what happens as you well know. One thing that does concern me is the lack of communication on FunComs part. Yes, we have had the mighty Press Releases about upcoming content but i dont think enough is being discussed with the player base about the more immediate concerns such as class balance and current content.

As soon as FunCom fix some of the truly annoying bugs such as the VRAM performance issues and tweak the current content to ensure a much smoother levelling curve, which can be done by tweaking Quest XP reward and XP to Level, i think its fair to say the game will be doing well and will be much stable. I think the next month or two will truely tell if this game really is something worth staying with long term. :)

Yea a lot of people are atm on holis or resolving their work-/studyloads prior to holis. What we could and should do is to set up grind groups when there's enough peeps on within the apprenticeship bracket and go out to stomp some mobs.
