The 4th edition rules for D&D are out, and WotC is busy working on the online support for the game. In point of fact they're adding all of the following:
Online Rules Compendium - Updated every time a new article or product is released
Character Creator - Using all updated rules from each new product or article
Character Visualizer - Creates a 3D model of your character (to be used with the game table below)
Online Game Table - Provides VoIP, dice roller, chat, 3D miniatures environment and more
Dungeon Constructor - Allows you to create dungeon environments in advance and either save/print them or import them to the game table
Online Dungeon and Dragon Magazines - Access to articles from both magazines (one is a general magazine for the game while the other focuses on new adventures) in an online format
Apparently non-subscribers will get limited use out of certain features, and be unable to utilize others at all. Subscribers (this is where the MMO part comes in) pay a monthly fee to be able to access premium features.
Who knows, might be worth looking into given that at least in a PnP campaign you can talk directly to a dev (Dungeon Master) when you get screwed. :)

Indeed, some might say that a bunch of people who are dedicated gamers are indeed slighty "Geeky".

No moreso than playing a game where you try and calculate the optimal method of generating "experience" or "gold" with your specific character.
No moreso than calculating the training time needed to get to Battleship V.
. . . or any of the hundreds of other things we do in the Legion. ;)

I dunno, a lot of us will let others do that calculation for us and simply play for fun

DnD is nerdy as hell, it's also awesome.
Oh and btw, Wigg, you're a nerd. Fucking face it.

Na, I'm a geek.. computers are the only thing making me a geek.
Nerds are completely different.
I've never played DnD for instance, nor do I have any urge to ever play it

Not really, there is quite a difference between geek and nerd

There is functionally no difference because jocks will kick your ass either way. May a well go full on dork.

I'm myself
Could it be that since some people don't want to try DnD is because they are scared of becoming something they don't like? I play DnD and computer games... Does that make me a nerd / geek? I don't mind :) I'm still myself and proud of it.

Ahh, well if you want to bring jocks into it:
I work out, which is something that would make me a jock and also something that would stop a jock from kicking my ass; yet I'm a geek because I play games occasionally... I also have a social life outside of computers.
Is a geek who works out and has a social life contrary to the usual paradigm and therefore making said geek no longer fit the parameters which define them as a geek? Or does this paragraph confirm ones geekiness after all?

I beleive the end statement would make you a Geek as you are trying not to label yourself as a Geek. Similar to the scientific fact that cool people dont call themselves cool.

Denial is the first sign of geek/nerd/dork-dom . . poor Wig.

Ouch.
Oh, and I still play D&D (together with Iron, Blade and Alion, so you can laugh at them too!). So double ouch I guess.
