that used to happen to me in PS a LOT. Think it has to do with your GPU overheating

Yeh, gonna take it out and clean it in the sink with washing up liquid and EVERYTHING!

Then when that fails I'll pop out on tuesday (fucking bank holiday) n sort a 8800GT since theyre only about 100 quid nowadays.

It might be the tempertaure in your case, causing VRAM to overheat and cause those artifacts.

My two previous gfx-cards got overheated and burned; the result was the same as yer screenie. Running AoC on a 8800gt myself in 1920*1200 with high details and it runs very smoothly. So I'd recommend that card for that price.

Yeah, very slight possibility it is general heat from inside the case, but I'm thinking it's probably more of a heat issue as a result of the card itself being defective however.

Sorted out my options to buy a new one ASAP though so I should be able to get a replacement within the week (I hope).

Might look at some cooling options as well, but I should have some old card heatsinks about somewhere if I can lay my hands on 'em in the mean time.

I just ordered a 8800GTS 512 and a C2D 6850 so i can get the game runing smoother.

You should aim on a GTS also, its a few bucks price difference and i really think its worth it. About 20-30 euro.

In about one month the new Nvidia and AMD cards are out. You will regret buying now.

I'm more likely to regret being able to play AoC than not waiting a month for a video card release. :D

Got my CPU and GFX today, hoping to get the time to switch the parts tomorow and do a Format C: while at it hehe.

Gona be fun to see how big difference it makes to my old setup with C2D 6400 and 7800GT.

Got the new card sorted now with an exhaust type cooling fan in the slots below it on "full beam".

Running smoother than Vad's arse.
