Leaked feat trees. While this is pretty much an NDA violation FC doesn't seem too fussed about them after the weekend's test as this was posted on the official boards and left there with the following FC post:

READ THIS FIRST!

Edit by Malethyn

This particular site is a NDA breach that happend prior to the PvP weekend. I'll leave the links be, but be aware that it could contain out-dated information in regards to the feat trees. These precise trees will not nessecarily be in the game at release!

Well, it doesn't have any numbers included, beta had. But you get the general idea :)

Edit: it's old. There's some feats missing. Considering that the beta is rumored to be based off on an old client, it must be even older.

The Conqueror looks the same as the one in the PvP beta.

When browsing these keep in mind that AoC feats aren't quite as strictly defining as WoW's talents. They're more in the lines of customising your toon to fit your playstyle best. Core class skills, abilities and combos don't come from feats.

After a brief toying around with those i really like it how they've done the feats. For example the soldier archtype (Guardian isn't put in there yet) tree that all soldier classes share alone allows you to boost your toon's tanking and damage potential quite a bit before even touching the class specific trees.

With full 52 points (remember these aren't finalised feats) in baseline soldier tree you'll have a stock soldier with apparently quite nice boosts to both tanking and damage and still you'll have 27 more points to put into the class trees.

Melikes. Hopefully this system doesn't spawn any cookiecutter crap but more like a few key feats best suited for your desired role and then majority of the rest picked as you find most useful for yourself.

Ive already come up with a template that ill have to research more when i see the numbers in full.

Havnt played conq much but there's some skills missing at the beginning of the second tree.

All of classes miss something. The trees ware full of skills usually so it's quite visible.

I played the Conqueror alot and i can assure you that the skills are exactly the same as in the PvP Beta. I specifically checked up on them to see what id like to pick at retail. I didnt jot anything down but i do remember what i saw and that list is spot on.

With the linkage to my build? It appears that the Calc doesnt give out the link properly as when i linked to it half of the feats i had chosen had vanished

Think it is because you pasted half the URL, if you do it again and but ensure your scroll along the entire string it should work.

Is it just me or is the Barbarian's 2h oriented tree pretty wank?

Khammar
Sunday, 18th May 2008, 19:43
It's better than being DW apparently. The stuns that you get from the 2h combos are what keep the barb alive.

Genya Arikado
Sunday, 18th May 2008, 19:52
The stuns was all I could see that was of any interest, personally I just want to tw@ things...

That said, like someone else mentioned on TS, swapping to a melee class from caster is a HUGE difference.. finding it ridiculously easy now, caught up to my necromancer in just 2 hours of play...

FuSs
Sunday, 18th May 2008, 20:27
The problem is that every class is allmost the same the first levels. The difference is that melee classes have a lot more health. Thus its easier to level up.

Genya Arikado
Sunday, 18th May 2008, 21:11
That and the Necro has like 40 spells of which only 4 are useful =P, shit hp and rather shit damage (in comparison to the Barb)...

Rating class balance at lvl 12 is a bad idea :p

Felstar
Sunday, 18th May 2008, 21:16
I don't think it's fair to judge a character too early on because they are not likely to be balanced around the low level stuff. HoX seems quite hard work at times too and it really struggles with multimob pulls if your cooldowns are off, I'm more investing in what it could become atm :)

Khammar
Sunday, 18th May 2008, 21:20
I think there are a lot of hurdles to overcome for characters.

I suspect the hurdles for the melee classes may actually come later . . .

Does not change the fact that I would rather level at an easier rate with the Barbarian. Not everyone had the benefit of Beta to see how the game would work at a foundational level and frankly Necro is jumping in at the deep end from my perspective.

Yea. Trainers in major cities and Tortage.

Pretty much settled now as a DT, can see the obvious group application to the heffers too. Despite the difficulty it is quite fun. Just wish I could dualwield instead of shield/talisman.

FuSs

Isnt Dark Templar a bit boring?

What do the lvl20+ players recommend? So far all my chars were about 2-3 combos. Maybe i should try out a spellcaster...
Btw is the guardian pike rather useless? Its against groups but against groups i did a lot better with shield and sword.
I want a really exciting and demanding class. Hows the ranger? Maybe i should settle on a rogue class. Sneaking around is nice. Ambushing someone with a big fucking 2hand sword is priceless.

Another thing: Arent combos pretty useless in pvp? Nobody will do you the favour to stand still while you perform your combo.

Genya Arikado
Tuesday, 20th May 2008, 10:30
Im finding it quite entertaining tbh...

If you want to ambush peeps with 2h etc, go Barbie Doll. Doing 600 damage in one hit at level 10 is always good.

You do not have to stand still while comboing, as long as you can get the presses in on time. In theory you could do 2 before even getting in range to the person and pulling off the third to trigger the combo. Also most classes have some form of CC for this, Barbies stun, DTs can cast a slow etc. The only thing you have to watch out for is double tap dodges, but these cost stamina to perform.

Seeing as edit is not working:

Anyone know if there are decent databases for items etc in circulation yet?

Edits: Woot, 2days later and a GM finally allows me to res my necromancer (remember that one? :P) now I can finally start leveling again...

Wish they would grey out spells you have insufficient mana for casting...
