Zombie Master

The premise is the usual zombie x survivor game you see using source. Survivors have to survive for a period of time, or complete objectives like finding fuel for trucks/boats etc in order to escape.

The difference is you can play as the zombie master, spawning and guiding your minions and setting off traps in an effort to crush the living under your rotten heel.


Have been enjoying this one for the past two days now, bullied Slann into getting it too (and promptly dropped a train crate on his head from a crane while I was zombie master, think I deafened him with my laughter down TS).

Anyone else care to give it a try?

Yeah I have that one for sure, will send it later on.

And it isn't based on Shaun of the Dead afaik (and I haven't even seen that film), it was originally called Conflict City 17, I think and revolved around using the Combine ala RTS (the role now taken by the ZM) against the civvies (survivors). Apparently they used a load of zombie models in the early designs to begin with and it did a 180 into the Zombie Mod it is today.

Click on HL1 and mods stats at the bottom, normally Zombie Master is quite high up (and I am not surprised at the two always vying for top place, ESF and Gmod ^^).

Doing quite well competing with all those other mods, especially when you consider that there is currently only one dev working on the next release.

I swear, one of these days I'm just going to flip... :P

It is very good fun. Takes a little getting into because it can be very difficult when you're starting off- the guns are relatively useless against the zombies and anything more than about 4 will destroy you. That said, you can dodge them (which is what I was doing when Genya so rudely interrupted :D). I never actually won. Then again, I'd only played it for 40 minutes.
