We had a sort-of-short-notice meeting on sunday the 1st of April.

Basically everyone standing around at SW Cathedral while I bored them by typing for an hour or so.

Short overview of the topics discussed:
Forum Requirement
- All members of Renegade Legion PvE must register on the forums (and all trialists must post on their trial thread before they can be promoted to Renegade).

Teamspeak
- Although being on teamspeak is not a requirement, we very much encourage everyone to get on! Teamspeak is a piece of voice communication software, which can be downloaded from www.goteamspeak.com. It helps a lot on communication in instances, raids etc.
Only listening is ok, but of course it's even better if you've got a mic so you can participate.
If you need help with downloading or installing, or need the server IP and password, just ask ingame.

ct_raidassist
Promoted this some more. Check this thread http://forums.renegade-legion.org/showthread.php?t=919 for details.

PartyPets
Promoted this some as well. Check this thread http://forums.renegade-legion.org/showthread.php?t=534&highlight=PartyPets for details.

Upcoming events
Mentioned the upcoming ideas for events, and that'd we'd like to do some more, but need feedback and ideas.
Event ideas thread: http://forums.renegade-legion.org/showthread.php?t=1099
Event time polls: http://forums.renegade-legion.org/showthread.php?t=1103 http://forums.renegade-legion.org/showthread.php?t=1101

Recruitment - slowing down a bit
Friends, family and great players you've run into are still welcome, but we'd like to slow down the influx of new members. We've had a lot of new members recently, and would like to give everyone a chance to settle in some more.
Requests to join from random strangers etc. will be turned down for now.

Alt chars
We don't have any specific rule for maximum number of alt chars, but we'd like to keep the guild list rather orderly. Therefore, we might be kicking inactive alt chars, very low level ones (mules etc.) and such. Do notify us ingame if you want one of your alt chars replaced with another you're planning on playing more.

Overall guild attitude - on being helpful and such
Had varying oppinions here; some people feeling they had a hard time getting help in guild, others having no problems.
We'd like to encourage people to be a bit more helpful; focus less on getting that next level or piece of the set, but instead look some more to guild char and answer requests for help.

Ehrm ... and I *think* that was it?

About the "helping" thing - you know, I don't mind helping someone when I have time and not doing anything and I see that someone really needs it. However, no lower level player should assume for granted that the lvl 60 players are there to pull them through the quests and instances by their ears.

The fact is, not all quests or instances what the person gets should be and can be done right when you get it. You may be level 35 and almost finish a quest chain and the last quest in it is lvl 50 boss fight. It does NOT mean that you are supposed, immediately and at lvl 35, to kill that boss. It means that you need to level up and once you're 'there', you finish the quest. This is how I did it and all others.

For example, take the elites in Duskwood (Eliza, Mor'Ladim, Morbent Fel), I had no one to call to help me with these and I didn't even think of calling someone. I gathered a group and went to do it, at appropriate level (was lvl 32 at a time). Killed Mor'Ladim with first try, wiped to Eliza on first try - recovered the corpse, regrouped and rebuffed, learnt from mistakes and did it again - and we won. Morbent Fel was pesky and we wiped twice on him, second time he was almost dead, but we had issues with adds (first time we did not control mobs around him well, second time we didn't control him and he ran and pulled adds on us). So we ressed, regrouped and rebuffed, paid attention to previous mistakes and did it. Flawless fight, fast and efficient on third time, he didn't even really know what hit him. And we all had fun and enjoyed it, and we were proud because WE did it :)

If you get to some instance where you have some quests, then no one should assume that they immediately should be able to run through that whole instance, kill all the bosses, get all the loot. Just because you can enter the Maraudon at lvl 40 doesn't mean that you need and should be able to go through it at lvl 40. You need to gain some more levels before you are able and can do it, and not assume that immediately some lvl 60 guildies should run over to pull you through it. This is not how the game and things are designed, the design assumes that if the challenge is too tough at lvl X, you gain more levels until you're lvl Y and then try it again. Not that lvl Z person to whom this is not a challenge just comes, does the work and rest reap the easy rewards. Where'c the challenge in that?

This goes hand in hand with someone's comment on the meeting "We need more training on how to raid". Reasonable request, but don't you see? If all lower levels expect that lvl 60's come and pull them through instances they can't do yet at their levels, they will never learn how to act, how to raid. They will not learn when to pull, who should pull, how to do crowd control when multiple mobs come in, how to recover after the wipe. How to buff, when to buff, how to move and navigate. These instance runs with groups are the training grounds and if some lvl 60 keeps pulling lower levels through these instances, then these lower levels will never learn how to raid. Raids do not consist only of getting the bit time "booty" at the end, raids are also wipes, recovery, doing it again and succeeding, learning from errors.

Basically, higher level guildies do and will help when they can and if the help is needed, IF these higher level guildies have the time available. However, people should also understand that the high levels are not there to pull them through the areas they're not yet even supposed to be in, or just because someone wants to go "solo" to get all the loot (since lvl 60 will not need the loot from that lower level instance, right?). Thus, I personally do help when I can, but if someone wants to kill some mob or head into some area, and I see that there's a big level difference between that person and the mob/area, I will just say "Level up some more and try then again", because they're not supposed to deal with those areas or mobs yet.

great meeting Niko, well done to everyone involved

there was ome useful stuff done, shame when i finally got to discuss something Iron Muted me, but hey, cany have everything right ? lol

as for level 60's helping, its not about assuming we should have help, its not about wanting to get to 60 ASAP

the reason its frustrating to me is because i just wanna group with my guildmates more often, Fullstop

It was a very good meeting indeed.

Sorry if I did cut someone off but otherwise Niko's important words would drown in pure guild spam. The only problem was that I could not close all the /s and /emote you guys did. But you'll learn that to the next meeting I hope. :D

I've also got some pictures of it. And again I must say I'm very impressed with you guys. Almost every member online was there. I counted 51 out of 57 pressent.
