Well if you're a WoW fan playing something like Hellgate London is probably like being strapped to a rocket ship in terms of pace. I was just put off by how easy it was and how repetitive. I'm sure I remember Diablo being more exciting.

as jega said, I preordered it. Yes it's a grind fest, but it is a good grind fest.
It has a few bad points, it lacks animations for the combat among other things, im not going to review it all here however. But to make the story short, it's a flawed but very good game. If you didn't like the demo, don't worry, the beta is a lot better, you can't say you tried it untill you dropped down a 4 story shaft and landed in the dark among an army of zombies, then barely crawling out alive, guns still blazing.

yep tried other servers aswell and other passes and logins but same prob all the time

The only server working is the beta sever. I could log in with no problem only to see my whole char was transparent, which I fixed by turning multisampling off.

It's definately not finished, but I like it so far. I'm Saltydog ingame on the beta sever. for those that want to add RL people.

Mixed review from PCG (kinda ironic considering the publishers gave them a world exclusive). UK gave it 70 odd %, think US gave it 80 odd %. UK reviewer cited problems with the combat and enviroment, but pointed out the class, equipment and leveling aspects as redeeming features.

I think, Guild Wars is actually a better game, but it was beta tested for ages, think it was the most polished online game at the day of release I remember. HG has the potential, I'm only lvl15, and so far the mission when you're switched to RTS mode was a big surprise, you dont really see that stuff in FPS games. The battlfield and 'brain' missions ware also a bomb.

On the other hand, there is a lot of bugs, it crashes every now and then, it's completely unbalanced and doesnt really support team play much. It's yet another game rushed by EA with beta testing done after release. Hopefully it will be fine in a few weeks.

Btw anyone an idea how to cert my blademaster? So far i've only spend 3 skill points at lvl 15.
With my first marksman i went tactical stance + shield upgrade route ... the only skill that is really bugged. really unfunny that it doesnt boost your shields but drains them to 0 :/

Yesterday i made another marksman to go the rapid fire route. So far its really funny. Rapid fire -> Beacon = even boss mobs die in less than 3 seconds :P
And i know which skills to take. Thats a huge pro ;)

Haven't really played around with sniper rifles much on my marksman, but so far I just like taking a volt rifle/something similar and modding it up, then using rapid fire/sniper mode when needed. Haven't gotten any of the grenades yet either.

I went for sniper stance / hawk eye / beacon / escape - and will fill up hollow points and master sniper when I can.

You can shoot stuff that you can't see yet (only the green markers telling you the distance is enough)

Sniper stance --> Beacon --> POW death boss --> Escape

25mm 2hand rifle on the switch for anything that might be aggro'd by shooting their mommy and didn't de-aggro by Escape

Basically, thats almost the choices I have made thus far. Except I've decided to go down the whirlwind tree and have invested there for the moment. Pondering the fear/taunt skill atm, it sounds pretty good on paper, but not sure its good if I whirlwind most of the time :D

Good thing I've learned so far - before you wste your points into something you are not sure about - buy an item with + skill and test! :cool:
