Im planning on going and visiting the Leedsfestival this summer, but have no idea on whats the best way to get there, or cheapest?
As u know i live in norway, and was maybe thinking of taking a plane to either London or Manchester, then train to Leeds. Or just simply take the ferry from Norway and drive....
I´ve never been to the UK, so if u guys got any tips & tricks i would be gratefull:)

As a resident northener take the plane to manchester airport then you can either catch the train direct to leeds station (although not sure theres is one) Failing that a Train from manchester airport to sheffield city train station then from sheffield to leeds
manchester to sheffield 1hr30min (roughly) about £15
sheffield to leeds <1hr about £7

I do know that leeds has a stupid amount of hot ladies there tho cos of the two Uni's tho :D think it comes second in the top 10 of places in the UK with the best Bird-Bloke ratio with somit like a 6-1. Nottingham was No.1 with 7-1 if my memory is correct.

manchester is closer to leeds.
loads of my mates are going to leeds, i cant afford it :(
dont pay over 60p for a can of coke etc.
look out for chavs as well, www.chavscum.co.uk <--- make sure you can spot a chav well, and carry a heavy object incase you see one so you an pan there head in. and learn a martail art so u can kill em in style (i suggest kuk sool won).
the police have no power.
i suggest while you're here you try to watch "little britain" or "red dwarf" or "blackadder" or "mr bean".
we drive on the left side of the road. speed limit is 30mph. but even the police dont stick to this, so go ahed and speed jsut look out for speed cameras. ill psot you a picture of the camera itself and the warning sign you get.
erm....
have fun :D

I was last at Leeds when it was at the old site in '02, but you can't miss it for the 10 mile long traffic jam :p get to the city centre and take one of the site busses, that's my recommendation, but obviously find out first. Also, if you're camping, pitch on the top of the hill, or you'll not find yoru tent for the mud. Still, with all the portaloo bonfires, you'll not be sleeping much anyway :p
yeah, definately pitch on the outskirts, the central areas become the entertainment, we had toilet nukes and a full batallion of riot police :D, though it's never been that bad since, so who knows.
And obviously, while viewing such stuff is cool, you want to be far enough away so that when you do return to your tent, you know it's not going to be on fire/underneath a riot van
Edit: just spotted you weren't camping, this stuff only happens on Sunday night. Heading back from an amazing Foo Fighters set into Armageddon was quite cool :D
