Not entirely unexpected but really, really, really disappointing. Been looking forwards to this game like a child to christmas, big bummer this.
Now i need to find something else to gtfo of WoW...
What's the release date on that pirate game again?

Gutted but i would rather they take their time and bing the game up to its full potential than rush it out and leave us with a big turd.
One way to look at thing is this - If you get in Beta, more free time to play :p

Well actually if you take a peep at the FC rep's post on the Conan boards (http://forums.ageofconan.com/showthread.php?t=36595) there's a little something that catches my eye in a sore way:
When our beta testers have come back to us with concerns in a couple of different areas, we have therefore been listening. The feedback has especially been on the entry barriers to the game, and how people are learning and coping with the combat system in the first few hours of gameplay. While most are having a fantastic time with it once they learn it, we also see that it is new and different to a lot of people, and that it takes longer to get into than what we have anticipated. This means that we need to ease the barrier, and make the first few hours of gameplay more accessible.
It might be the cynical bastard in me but i read that as some ADHD pricks spat their dummies because they were actually required to take time to LEARN something and now Funcom's yielding to them and thus dumbing up the "killer feature" combat system.

That's a worryingly honest statement. Something must be seriously wrong. :(

lets hope they really mean making better learning-steps rather then simplfying the system to please the masses.

A more specific response to the question of possible dumbing down of the Combat System is here. (http://forums.ageofconan.com/showpost.php?p=889867&postcount=6)
The changes we are making to the combat system are not a "dumbing down" in any way. We are tweaking the GUI/interaction system pretty heavily, but the fundamentals and mechanics are staying the basically the same.
To summarize - no, it isnt being dumbed down.
Thank god.

FFS, the wankers must have known a delay was due before releasing all the E3 vids with 30.10.2007 on it, i kinda hoped that that move meant the date was pretty solid.

Not really surprised to be honest, still if it gives them more time to fix the problems that have been highlighted in Beta. Me and Bagpuss were talking about this on monday and we both had a feeling it would be delayed, we only hope they dont get forced to release it in the same kind of state Vanguard was released.

Well with six months at least added to the timer, and probably more to come, I'm afraid I'm going to have to officially lose all interest in this game. I'll put the Bread The Barbarian dreams to bed, and set the alarm clock for January 2008 when I might get interested again.

I find it very unlikely that I'll ever go back to games like Conan after PotBS. It's got all the good stuff going on.
